Odd that this has been out since the 7th and yet as of this post (10th) no user reviews have appeared on the IMDb. I find it hard to believe that people haven't been submitting reviews there, so why haven't the IMDb been posting them?
People are usually keen to take to the IMDb to voice their opinions on new movies though, good or bad. The absence of activity there is in sharp contrast to letterboxd or on here.
I wrote one for The Reckoning (2020) that got a lot of likes and turned into the most popular review by far, which meant it was always the first one you'd see. But one day my review was deleted without warning, even though I had been careful not to use any curse words or broken the guidelines what so ever.
I had however tried to describe just how terrible the star, Charlotte Kirk, was in the film. And knowing that she has actually engaged in sexual affairs and subsequently blackmailed producers just to get roles in movies, I'm guessing that she got so angry from my review that she somehow managed to get it deleted. Probably by sleeping with an IMDB employee.
One only needs to report a review to get it removed. The reporter just needs to point out that the review had aspects of it that wasn't part of the movie and that was part of the personal life of the leading lady. I've seen reviews be pulled for a lot less than that when somebody reports them.
True, IMDB has always been greatly restricted by overzealous moderators, especially back when it still had a discussion forum.
But I actually didn't mention anything about Kirk's private life in the review though. So I'm sticking with the theory that she sexually extoted a low-level IMDB intern :)
I've reported a couple that were actually reviews based on other reviews LOL. So meaning, the person never saw the movie but made a review saying how bad the movie was and mentioning that their review is based on other people's bad reviews LOL. Some of these people are so out there it makes me laugh so hard.
That is strange. Most films are inundated with reviews on day one.
So many people on IMDB are prolific reviewers who review numerous films/shows a day. Of course numerous people have attempted to review this only for IMDB to not approve it (as of yet) for some reason.
Update: as if by magic 334 reviews appeared on the 11th, some submitted as early as the 7th, the majority of them are extremely negative about the movie. It is starting to look like the IMDb were trying to delay bad word of mouth here.
The majority of reviews in the Featured ordering are there because people upvote them.
Sort by Review Date and you get mostly 4/5/6 * reviews. Always downvote the 1/2* reviews so they don't get featured.
