Favourite Scenes

OK so this thread probably won't last very long with a 2 hour only production but I'll get the ball rolling ...

Catherine is formally introduced to Henry .... 'now we can talk to one another' .. 'we've already been talking'

First Dance scene .... 'why would he be looking at me?' .... 'because he likes what he sees'

Apple catching ... the look on the girls faces is just so fresh and joyful

Mud spot removing ... the way he holds his face in her hands .... swoon!

The Kiss .... the way they just want to throw their arms around each other but are slightly nervous about it.

Do you like these bits? Any more?

I love every thing that has already been mentioned..especially the mud wiping scene ... but, here are a few more ...

When Henry and Catherine ride to see his home. And Catherine says "It's lovely" ... and then Henry responds with "I'm very glad you think so"

When Henry and Catherine are walking and begin to talk about his father wanting his sister and brother to marry wealth...
Catherine starts by asking "And you?"
"If I'm to retain my father's favor I must marry a fortune too"
"And shall you?"
"I always hoped I'd be lucky if the girl I fell in love with would come with a fortune attached"
"And if she should not?"
"Then that would be a very stern test of my character"
...
I really love the way Catherine asks the questions, there's so much emotion, it seems to be a mixture of hope, sadness, yearning and many more! It's just very sweet.

The way JJ says, "Then that would be a very stern test of my character" makes me melt! It's so sexy. And, the look on his face is adorable.

All the moments mentioned are great. The mud-wiping scene is very swoon-worthy, and who could forget that kiss!

My favourite, although a sad moment, is when Catherine, after having been sent home, admits her love out loud for the first time. It's been a while since I've seen it but I seem to recall it is her and her mother having the conversation on the stairs. It's an amazingly well-done scene. Very little dialog but tons of emotion. You get the sense that her love is genuine and her heart is truly broken and the pretense or "fantasy" of what love has been for her has been stripped away and she's left with only the real life consequences of all that has gone before. It really redeems the character of Catherine for me (excellent performances by both actresses in this scene) and even though you KNOW the happy ending is right around the corner, I really felt like she deserved it because of this new depth she has found. Perhaps the General really did our heroes a favour in spite of himself!
