Felicity Jones was perfect!!

Sadly, I could be her father (but only just) but I have to admit I found her absolutely beguiling in Northanger Abbey as Catherine Morland.

She was the perfect combination of innocence, earnestness, sincerity, and good manners.

She looked wonderful in all her outfits and when she wore a bonnet it helped frame her very pretty face. That top hat thing she wore when horse riding was ugly, though.

For me she made this adaptation work. She contrasted nicely with the manipulative Thorpes and you could easily see why someone like Henry Tilney would be attracted to her.

Altogether, an outstanding performance.

Nothing to add to what's already been said. She looks about 16-17, innocent, naive, sweet, and naturally beautiful, with her simple hairdos with little flower and flowy dresses.

The best of this version are Henry and Catherine. You see why they hit it off, you can believe they falling in love with each other, and the actors are more charming out of personality than they are out of looks (though she's really lovely). A great casting for the two leads.
