Does Frank Miller have a problem..

..with writing positive black characters?

Okay, hear me out.

300 - Bad guys are brown and black.

Sin City - Bad guy is a huge black man. Dies horribly, corrupt cop that gunned down Marv female friend black.

The Spirit - Gets rid of Ebony White, one of the few black characters from the comic. True he was a pretty much offensive when first concieved but could be remade for the modern day. Because he felt he had no place in the story. Replaces him with a main black bad guy who dresses like a Nazi.

Just saying, maybe he has issues. You know like the whole whores, whores, whores thing and noir style badass talking about the city thing.

wasn't the girlfriend of dwight- the hooker in leather, wasn't she black? but, yeah, i think there is some problems. other problems that have come up. many have thought he had subtextual racism with the mutants in Dark Knight Returns. When he did Spawn/Batman crossover, he had Batman call Spawn "Boy" a racial slang towards blacks. But I think you're right, it appears he doesn't do so well with creating strong black folks. But he's good to the Asians, and people of alien type colours. Maybe his next book should b an all non-white story. ha. But you gotta keep in mind most popular culture is racist, in that they don't realize they're filling their stories mostly with white people and not enough of anyone of any color

I take it you've never read any of the Martha Washington stuff.

That was then.

Have you seen the now.

Holy Terror , Dark Knight Returns part 2, his rant about the 99 percent.

So many problems...

It's
unfortunate
that Mr Miller
has fallen off the
proverbial deep end.
As a young lad I was
impacted not only by his
art, but storytelling as well.
The first comic of his I read was
Daredevil 232. You only saw Matt
Murdoch in the devil suit on the last page,
but the build up to it throughout the issue was
phenomenal. Goodbye Mr. Frank Miller, I thought I knew you well.

On the other hand, Tyler Perry always makes his black characters look stupid.

Not that there was anything historical about 300, contrary to the movie Troy, persians were brown. The black characters were probably slaves bought from Egypt, that proved themselves intelligent and least likely of betraying the king, kind of like Daniel in the bible.

As for everything else, I'm in complete agreement. Why is it always the black cop that's corrupt.

Never give an Irishman a cause for revenge.

Dunno about that. But he has a problem with being too artistic though. 300 was good. But that was it.
