I highly recommend reading the book

I absolutely love this book. It’s nothing like the movie, it’s far superior in every way. It goes much farther than just the initial outbreak, it explores the early stages, how the worlds’ governments allowed it to happen, how we combatted them initially and then successfully, the cleanup and recovery, and the logic behind it all as well as individuals’ emotions. Regardless of if you usually enjoy zombie stuff, you will most likely love the book, it you do like zombies, you will def love the book. It’s about more than just zombies, it’s about human nature and how we process and deal with crisises.

I agree. The only character name in both is Jurgen Warmbrunn. Other than zombies attacking humans, nothing that happens in the book happens in the film and vise versa. Even the zombies are much different.

If they changed that one name, they could have made the film without crediting Max Brooks at all I think. :)
