ok, if this is Marnie's freshman year of college and Dylan is younger than her, why is he also going to Witch U? Or if he's not he has a student ID (they show that in one of the trailers).

Umm dylan isnt younger than her...remember in the 1st movie they said he ha already turned thirteen and thats why he didnt have powers?

No Dylan is the middle child and is younger than Marnie. My theory is that they will say Dylan skipped a grade. If you watch Halloweentown High it said he was in all AP classes.

They did not say that he was thirteen in the first movie. And turning thirteen isn't when witches (in these movies) get their powers. It's when they're supposed to have completed their training. Dylan is supposedly about a year or so young than Marnie.
shareMy guess is the same, since he is so book smart he was able to skip a grade or so. Besides since it is halloweentown's university, they made have different standards for admission that he qualifies for.

If a witch/warlock doesn't demonstrate or use their powers before they turn 13 there magic is gone, which is why Marnie (being the oldest) was so adamant and angry about not being trained. Thankfully she started using magic before she was to old.
Dylan on the other hand. I happen to believe that he comes from a long line of Cromwell WITCHES, there has never been a mention of a Cromwell WARLOCK, and in the first movie when Dylan's anger overtook he showed that he had magic...in was dancing on his fingertips, which was odd as everyone else's magic was basically invisible with no sparklies. When he joined his families hands they defeated Kalabar. Thus he has used his powers before he was 13, and they were not cut off from him.
So he is a Cromwell Warlock, and has his own powers, and I believe in that one scene where he says 'Magic' and the books are flying around her and Marnie says 'Did you just say the M word?' and he looks exasperated...I think his magic just started really showing up and he is probably upset that he really isn't the 'normal' one.

I agree with being under a spell, they mention it slightly on the Disney website as being under the charms on of of the Sinister sisters. I don't think anything that bad will happen, but it could be making him use his powers more.
I guess witches could be universal, but I don't think they have been using it as a universal term in this movie. As noted before whenever there is a male witch they have so far always been referred to as a Warlock, not a witch. Lukas' character is referred to as a warlock, his father is as well, at the same time Kalabar is (even when he isn't known to be in league with the darkness). Yes, in the second movie he not only helped with the portal, but also used the 'trapa' 'apart' magic. I think a lot of people are forgetting that he has shown powers.
I am actually hoping that they don't foolishly hook him up with a girl like they hook Marnie up with a different guy in two of the movies (I talking about the fact that she meets a guy, likes him, and they hook up by the end). Especially if it is a Sinister sister, I think it would be pushed to much and unrealistic. From Halloween High it is obvious that he needs an intellectual as someone to be in a relationship...just...not one that is a furry pink troll.

By the by, the term "Warlock" means "Oath breaker" (not a good thing in magic) so many men who study witchcraft actually prefer the term "Witch", though most people think it's only a name for women. (I forget if they actually refer to Dylan in the movie as a 'warlock', but I wouldn't expect Family channel writers to know that much about Wiccan culture.)

You guys need to chill; they asked the question before the movie even came out. And, to my knowledge, Dylan was referred to as a warlock only once. In the first movie when he gets all angry and sparks come off his fingers Marnie goes “Well, well, it looks like we’ve got another witch in the family… or should I say warlock?” It’s not the EXACT line but that’s basically what she said.
As for the question, yeah he is younger then Marnie but he skipped a grade because he speed read in high school by using his magic. And I have to say that was probably the coolest scene in the entire movie. Dylan’s been my favorite character since the first movie so it was exciting to see him finally use his magic powers.
