Anybody else think that Mike and Fi should have actually died together

i was convinced that james took them in the blast, it would have been a perfect creative ending. both mike and fi have been through so much and they die together side by side, it would have been a much better ending in my opinion. i still liked the ending, but i just feel that mike and fi dying together in the explosion would have been perfect. does anybody else agree or am i the only one?

Completely disagree... Thing they did the ending rather nicely, especially where Michael is talking about spies being hard to take out and all... Also liked that they had Sam and Jesse both heading back to Miami to do a job, I would watch that spin-off :-P lol

After the explosion, I was pretty saddened, cause I actually thought they were dead. But as soon as Strong said that he'd make sure Michael got the star on the CIA wall of heroes, I knew Michael and Fiona survived and decided to fake their deaths to escape all their CIA baggage, and live happily ever after in some far away secluded place.

It's a predictable and cliche ending, but anything else would have been a disaster for those that loved the Mike and Fi relationship. I was never expecting Madeline to sacrifice herself though. I guess that kinda takes away from the perfect rosy ending people often hate with series finales.

I like the ending as is. The whole point of the show was Michael getting his life back. And he did.

It would have been a good ending at first glance, but then there would've been nobody to care for the little one. So Maddie would have had to survive. And then it suddenly becomes a lot less appealing imo.

I don't know, Butchie, instead.

it's too easy to have the happily ever after scenario even though I would guess more people prefer that. So I would've been ok with them dying. It would have been ballsy. But that's not what USA wants from their shows, nor do I think it would be fair to most fans (based on this whole theory of what Burn Notice started as far as the type of show USA looks to run - that whole "Blue Skies" thing or whatever they call it...humor, drama, semi-"light" fare). Maddie was a good compromise to keep it from being too Hollywood happy ending. And yes...you could argue Nate could fill that position, but he was never a major character. The dynamic between Michael and any of the 4 others holds more weight for me.

All in all, for a show that ran 7 seasons I think they did a pretty good job keeping me interested even while they changed the style a bit (which I maintain you have to try and do if you run a show like this for 7 seasons).

I don't agree. I am glad that they lived even though I did not really care the ending (or this whole season).

However, realistically, there is no way they could have outrun the explosion and survived. But I don't watch Burn Notice for realism.

I will continue to watch the first 6 seasons on DVD.

I think I would have prefered that Mike and Fi die as well. While I do enjoy the happily ever after ending, a surprise twist that very few people do whould have made it an even better episode in my opinion. But as others have said, it wouldn't have held with the style of the show up until this point.

I think they should have died. If there was going to be miraculous escapes from death then might as well let Mike's mom survive the point blank explosion she set off as well.

Mike's Mom: *stands up and brushes debris off her shirt* "Going to take more than that to take me out!"

Jesse: "Holy sh..."

I like that Maddie died. It really brought stakes to the story and it showed Michael break down in a way we haven't seen before. And it allows Maddie to finally be heroic after spending a season (and a few seasons at that) in fear of these men who would take her grandson and son's life. I was half-thinking that Sam or Jesse would buy it too...especially Sam who looks like he barely made it out.

You needed someone important to die towards the end to show that
