Your favorite season
Without spoilers, what was your favorite season of Burn Notice? I'm almost halfway through season 4 right now and I've got to say my favorite is probably season 3 right now. Season 4 being my least favorite so far

shareI agree. But there is no way that she would be living with someone that soon. I know she must have feltt so betrayed. Maybe dating him, and for that story that Micheal told to have no effect on her not right. Really wish Ii knew what the writers were thinking. It gets worse.
shareSeason 4 and season 6 my favorite. Also 5 too. Yea I loved Sam and Jessie too. But think it would be hard to do without all of them. However I would have like to see it would have worked.. I understand them wanting to be more serious but they went in a totally different direction. You really get a feeling just how different by epsiode 4.
shareJust finished episode 3, another hard episode to watch. That loan shark that was after Madeline was messed up. I was happy that she got to handle it mostly herself. Something I noticed, the "I own you" line, that the loan shark said to Madeline, and then she said back to him later, that can be applied to Michael too with this "Strong" guy. He owns Michael until this mission is done, and it looks like this mission might take the whole season sadly. I would be very disappointed if that's the case. I'm missing the earlier seasons now
shareI've got to say, I'm thinking I like Michael and Sonya now better than Michael and Fi. Fi's been pissing me off so far this season, and I think the opportunity for them to be together has passed. It's sad about what happened with them, but Fi's making the situation out worse than it actually is. Michael didn't choose to go back to the CIA this time, he was basically forced to. I'm hoping the show has a somewhat happy ending. I would also love to see a prequel movie about Michael, I think that would be pretty cool
shareAfter watching the next episode, I've got to change my mind on my last statement lol. Unless Sonya changes sides, I can't see that ever working out. Still waiting for Carlos to die though, if he does haha. Seems like he's hiding something
shareThat is what I am talking about they made Fiona'act that way and she never did before. Regardless I could never like sonya. It is like they went with a new show altogether. It is nothing like the others. Not sure why they would do that as well. The whole theme of the show changes. Wait until he meets James. I read that they really wanted to make the show more serial like instead of episodic but that is not what made the show work. But regardless they could have gone a different way.
shareI only have 5 episodes left. Although it's been mostly depressing, and darker than it had been in the past, I think the quality of seasons 6 and 7 have definitely increased as compared to the older seasons. I'm hoping the show has a great closing. That episode "Psychological Warfare" was amazing. Although it was hard to watch, Jeffrey Donovan is an amazing actor imo. That scene at the end of Episode 6, "All or Nothing" was very emotional. What Michael is saying is for his cover, but it's actually true too. It's depressing but makes for great television.
shareYes I agree, but where I was a bit disappointed is in changing the charcters. Also spending so much time on people we do not know. When Strong told Fiona finally why he was doing it, she would have changed her thinking some. She has always in the past. Yea and the speech at the end you wonder how much was cover story and how much is true. But he is crossing a line that his charcter has spent six seasons not doing. . So all of sudden we are to believe tgey have changed in just nine months.
shareI completely understand what you mean. This is heavy. About to start the series finale now. I miss the lightness of the show from the earlier seasons, however I still liked season 7. I'm hoping the finale is amazing. If I was in Michael's position, I'm not sure what I'd do lol. I like Sonya more than it seems most people do, I'm just hoping everyone I like makes it out of this alive haha. I may have to rewatch some of my favorite episodes from past seasons after the finale of the ending isn't happy. I don't want it to be depressing lol. I'll let you know when I finish the episode
shareThe last ones get even darker and further away from the original.
shareWow, the series finale was even darker than I thought it'd be. I was hoping for some kinda happy ending, and to a degree we got that, but poor Madeline :( That was so sad. And I honestly thought Michael and Fi were dead for a little bit there. That would've been terrible. So theres still an opening for them to make another short season or some type of special eventually too. I have to admit I felt bad about Sonya, but there was no way of her changing sides unless Michael went through with the plan. I'm definitely going to watch some of the older episodes to get my mood up though lol. Overall, I really loved the show. I'd maybe even have to rate it top 2 or 3 of mine. Although season's 6 and 7 were darker than the rest, and not as fun as earlier seasons, I still found the show to be great quality, and I'm surprised Jeffrey Donovan never won an Emmy for his performance. He was phenomenal, especially in season 7. Reminds me of another great actor, Andrew Lincoln, on The Walking Dead. One can only hope these actors will eventually get the recognition they deserve
shareWith regards to Michael and Fi ending up with each other at the end, I was happy about that, and I'm glad that they chose to keep Michael and Fi alive instead of killing them. The references to episode 1/the opening credits of every episode, "Should we shoot them?" "Bunch of b-tchy little girls" "My name is Michael Westen. I used to be a spy." I thought those were great. A Jesse and Sam spinoff eventually would be awesome. That would be great if they randomly decided to green light it one day. Maybe Michael and Fi would have a cameo or something. It won't be the same without Madeline there though :(
shareI should probably warn anyone who is watching the show for the first time, not to read through these, as there are spoilers throughout lol. Not sure how to edit my original post, but you should be careful on the internet anyway when it comes to spoilers XD I definitely recommend this show
shareThe last 15 mins saved the last season for me. Loved the ending. Yea I did not like Sonya and kind of saw that as evil vs. good. I get if they wanted more serious, but, I felt that they rushed the ending like all of a sudden we have to end this. The group never was together for any time. And all season invested in people we never knew!! I' loved the duct tape as well!!
" Guns make you stupid, duct tape makes you smart"
It just went from one thing to something completely different. But the ending was great!!
I just dont see a spin off since the show ended in 2013.
But still it was a great show. I really hated Maddie getting killed. And then Jessie talking about having a family now and at the end it was just he and Sam.
I feel like they kinda screwed up with Sonya because they rushed it. All that character development between Sonya and Michael just thrown away. I can't see any way she gets out of it alive though, unless Michael decides to follow through with his plan and makes Fi leave. I said in another thread, that could've made for a good season 8 then if the CIA finds out Michael is running this organization. Of course, by the end of the season, it will all work out in the end somehow and they could've ended it then. I still had no problems with the ending though. They should've went through with the Sam and Jesse spinoff. I'm disappointed that they never did
shareAnd to clarify, if they ended up making a season 8 and did it this way, it still would've ended up, Michael coming around in some way, but maybe Madeline wouldn't of had to die, and Sonya would've had a little longer to live, etc. I guess I'm just trying to figure out a way Madeline lives. I'm still happy with the way it ended though
shareI agree, I hated that Maddie was killed off too, but with the ending the show had, I can't see it going any other way. If she lived, that would've been kinda messed up for Michael and Fi to just disappear on her, and take Charlie. She had to die unfortunately with the ending that they chose. I felt bad about the whole Jesse thing too. He says he has a family in these people and then 1 of them is killed and the other 2 disappear. I feel like the spin off could've offered more closure with thay
shareyou are right. That was the only way to go with that storyline. It was a great show and so glad I stumbled onto it. The 7th season just was not a favorite of mine.
I had never heard of Jeffery Donovan before this either. I saw a interview he did the other day and they ask him what he rebbe red most about BN, and I was so disappointed with his answer. He said that it was hot and felt like one long chase scene. Made me think he was belittling a show that was so good . Not sure why. He was good in it and it was a good show. I couldn't help but lose some of the respect I had for him. I am not sure but I would think that is the show that made him a household name. Very tacky I thought!
I used to watch episodes of Burn Notice back when it was airing with my dad and I loved the show then. I'm happy I decided to binge watch it and get the whole story. After I finished the series finale I watched a couple old episodes and then the season 4 finale. That would've been a great ending for the series imo. Still happy it went on longer though. It was a great show. That's interesting about the interview with Jeffrey Donovan. Maybe he's just poking innocent fun at it, although I haven't seen it so I don't know his tone while he was saying it. Next show on my binge list is either Ash v Evil Dead(Love me some Bruce Campbell lol) or Breaking Bad. Trying to decide which
shareI agree with you season 4 finale would have made a great ending!! I rematches some of my favorite epsiodes yesterday as well. I loved Bruce Campbell as well, but sci fi and horror are not my favorite. Wish Bruce would do something else. I would suggest Breaking Bad. It was a great show. I loved it!! Trying to find something new as well!! Someone suggested Sons of Anarchy. I would like a show that is current too. That way something to look forward as well.
The video clip was posted on his page here. Just odd that linter view.
If they make the Sam and Jesse spinoff I'd be so happy. I think it's still possible, maybe after Bruce Campbell finishes with Evil dead. I would recommend The Walking Dead to you, but since you don't like horror than it might not be for you, although it's not really all that scary. It focuses more on what happens to humanity when faced against a zombie apocalypse. There's a lot more to it, but that's the simplest explanation of it. I'm probably gonna go with Breaking Bad. I'm hoping it's better than Game of Thrones. I got my hopes up so much for that show and was let down because of all the people who hyped it up for me. I guess it's just not for me. Breaking Bad seems like it's more my style though. I've heard good things about Sons of Anarchy so that wouldn't be bad to watch. If you like Marvel superheroes and stuff, I recommend Daredevil, Jessica Jones and/or Luke Cage. Agents of Shield is pretty cool too. I'll check out that interview. It's on his IMDb page?
shareNext show on my binge list is either Ash v Evil Dead(Love me some Bruce Campbell lol) or Breaking Bad. Trying to decide which
I ended up watching Breaking Bad. I finished it in a week and a half. I loved it. One of my favorite TV shows. I watched season 1 of Better Call Saul immediately afterwards and enjoyed that too. Trying to find somewhere I can watch season 2 of that. I'm sure I can re-binge Breaking Bad eventually, but it seems too soon. Also worth noting that I can't imagine myself starting another show after Breaking Bad(BCS excluded), because it just feels weird and can only imagine myself being let down by another show lol.
With regards to binging shows over and over, I've probably watched TWD seasons 1-5, 6 times. Season 6 I've seen 3 times and 7A I've only seen once so far. TWD and Breaking Bad are the only two shows I've seen that I would do a complete re-binge on. This show(Burn Notice) is my 3rd favorite, but I can't see myself rebinging it any time soon. I have rewatched certain episodes however.
I might watch Ash v Evil Dead eventually, but I'm taking a break for now lol. I watched 3 shows, Burn Notice, Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, in less than 2 months
YESSSS! Always love to meet a BB fan! Saul is definitely still finding its legs, but pretty great in its own right nonetheless. Odenkirk is one of my personal favorites.
TWD: I have a love/disdain relationship with. No need for me to waste your time here, other than to say I would definitely re-binge it any day / any time :)
I'm about to start Burn Notice tonight after finally finishing my last binge (Lie to Me: good but not quite great). TBH Burn Notice only lost out last week due to the # of seasons.
I think had it ended any other way would have felt wrong. So I am glad Mayt Nix felt that way. Just cannot help feeling a bit frustrated though. I still don't know how I missed it when it was on though.
I had never heard of Jeffery Donovan before this, but he was so good in it. I loved all the actors. I so wish they would do a movie or something. That wpuld be excellent, bit do not think that will happen.
