Are you joking? Star Wars invented nothing. SF lit and even sci-fi serials, movies, comics and TV have been full of ideas like this for 70-100 years now.

Galactic Empires are not a new concept and certainly did not originate with Star Wars. The Foundation stories were published in 1942 to 1950. The concept was not new then, either. It seems to be a common error these days to assume that recent IPs originated the concepts they contain.
