Screw the haters! The movie was hilarious!
If you post on this thread then u like the movie.
shareAgreed.
shareI enjoyed it, and would consider seeing it again.

It was pretty funny. There were some disturbing parts, but overall I enjoyed it.
"I do love a civil war. You know, these wars today are so rude and ill mannered."
I enjoyed it for what it was.
shareUnintelligent GARBAGE.
U mad?

It's supposed to be so stupid you laugh, I didn't take it seriously, it's just a movie for laughs (I"m not saying it's good though, most of the scenes were not funny) but some others were, hit and miss.
The universe isn’t evil, John, it’s just indifferent.
that is so true! im gonna buy the blu-ray for SCARY MOVIE 5 on august 20th
shareI just want to know. Is it better than Sharknado? I actually enjoy bad movies although I'll agree some bad movies are just horribly bad though. I think I'm going to enjoy this one... note I said "enjoy" not "like" but we'll see and I'm looking forward to seeing it.

What exactly was hilarious? I'm not a 9 year old boy, so I literally never laughed once.
This was awful. Period.
I enjoyed it for the most part although it did fizzle at the end. The jokes were hit and miss which is to be expected in this genre but none of the bad jokes dragged on endlessly except for the news anchor scene. The jokes were fast and furious and the movie was extremely fast paced which is good if the movie succeeds at getting you to laugh at more than half the jokes. I wonder if all they did was quicken the pace of the movie to accompany all the reshoots. Kudos to them if they did.
Where the movie was extremely weak was in tying all the narrative threads together in the end but the other movies were equally bad at giving a resolution. I would recommend it but only to those who have seen all the Zucker films or everything else in the series. It's really no better or worse than part 4 and much better than 2. I would guess that the negative reaction to this film has to do more with all the bad spoof films that have come out in the last seven years such as Date Movie, Epic Movie, etc.
I also think that the movie is much funnier if you have seen most of the films they are referencing. I am familiar with everything they spoofed here except for the Fifty Shades series and that scene left me more confused than anything. However, I did enjoy a lot of the Black Swan digs that most of the people in my theater did not seem to get. Not the most memorable movie experience I've ever had, but still enjoyable.
For those who are complaining, there are plenty of artier stuff out there such as To the Wonder, the Place Beyond the Pines, Disconnect and much more as well as other types of comedies. Why waste your time with something you already know your not going to like when there is literally hours and hours of other stuff competing for your attention and money?
I wonder if those who grew up in the 80's think of this generation as being spoiled when it comes to entertainment. I remember watching a lot of crap when I was younger because I didn't have the internet.
Bud Zucker didn't make this. He only made 3 and 4.
shareIs this a joke? How can anyone write that much about this unbearably stupid piece of trash? Nobody involved with this "movie" (I hesitate to call it that, as most movies have a plots and a point)gave it that much thought.
shareI haven't seen this movie so I don't know if it's good or bad, but do you really expect a spoof movie to have a plot?? They're just a parody with a bunch of jokes and references to other movies, they are not suppose to be taken seriously
shareA bit weird to recommend To the Wonder or The Place Beyond the Pines, as none of the disappointed people from Scary Movie 5 came out wondering why it hadn't been a serious drama... If you're going to make spoof film, you should compare against Airplane!, the Hot Shots!-movies and stuff like that. Completely ridiculous movies, but way better at being stupidly funny than this was.
My point is, I love spoof movies. I'm not complaining because I wanted a different kind of movie or even comedy. It was the right genre, just not a good example of it.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity

Im not a 15 year old, and I literally never laughed once aswell, what a waste of my precious time!
shareAbsolutely agree. This movie was a pleasant surprise and plenty of fun. I have loved all other 4 films in their own ways. This one, despite the lack of Anna Farris and Regina Hall, is surprisingly brilliant and faced-paced. I hope the mediocre box office doesn't prevent them from making a new one. I still say the lack of Scream 4 spoof was total BS.
Keep Calm & Love Josh Hutcherson
Your lemon squares taste like ASS.
All I can add is that if you don't laugh at the antics in this film then you don't have a sense of humour. It was obviously made with that in mind. I could watch this again and still laugh.
shareEveryone is certainly entitled to their opinions, but if you know the history of the franchise you might feel differently. The first 2 Scary Movies were created by the Waynan brothers of "in Living Color", "White Chicks", "I'm gonna get you Sucka" fame. The whole Scary movie concept was written and developed by them and became wildly successful. By the time SM3 rolled around they wrote a script and the Weinstein company didn't want to pay for the success they garnered them and pushed them out , stole the concept and shot the movie without the original creators. Weinstein continued to shoot 3 additional movies off the backs of their genius and most folks don't know that this has happened. Having seen them all, my kids are big fans, I can see the major shift and drop off in quality, humor and wit. SM5 is by far the worst of the franchise. And knowing that some greedy corporate Hollywood suits screwed over the Waynan's to make a quick buck makes me sick. And it's sad that most fans don't know this fact. Don't feed the greedy beast. If your a fan of the originals go see A haunted house - created by the Waynan Bros and independently produced and distributed. It's a funny movie and has that wonderful wit and brilliance of the first 2 Scary Movies.
sharethis movie was brilliantly funny
shareWorse then Haunted House apparently.
shareNo. Monty Python & the Holy Grail, Life of Brian, Blazing Saddles, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Caddyshack, Raising Arizona. THOSE are examples of brilliantly funny movies. Scary Movie 5 has business being anywhere near the words "brilliant" or "funny."
shareWhile I do agree with you on the examples you used, I have to disagree with your (seemingly) complete lack of respect for the spoof, which CAN be brilliantly funny. The ideas and concepts owithin the spoof and the way each scene is presented within it's context of both the spoof element on top of it's own story can be quite brilliant in the right hands. Of course, there will always be laughs that fall flat, that's just humor though, especially when it's in a way, a skit format like Saturday Night live. Would you say Saturday Night Live has NEVER been funny or brilliant or does it have it's moments?
I know I am in a huge minority, but one of my all time favorite spoofs is Date Movie and I find it to be "brilliantly funny". At no time am I not invested in the love story between Julia and Grant, and how they interweave so many romantic comedies, its quite amazing that it just doesn't become a nonsensical mess(like Disaster movie!) One of my favorite scenes still busts me up, when that are in the phyciatrist's office and Grant says something along the lines of "Look, I love her, but sometimes.." and he starts miming out punching her in the face and sufficating her with a pillow.(his crying to determination face is priceless!)
I found Scary Movie 5 to be quite funny and enjoyable(Ive seen every movie it spoofs btw), I really liked how they kept it consistent with Charlie and his brother being the main connection to the rest of the series, and I quite enjoy Simon Rex's comic relief. He was hilarious in Scary Movie 3, one of the best elements, and Ashley Tisdale was funny and hot, just like Anna Faris! I would add it to my scary movie collection with pride and it would be one of those movies I would just watch if nothing else was on. Loved the Pool Cleaner party!

If anything I noticed a huge increase in quality starting from 3 on. The Wayans really got lucky with the first one. Everything else they have done including Scary Movie 2 has been putrid. I never thought I could look at a movie such as A Haunted House and say I didn't get it but there are apparently a few people who find that type of humor funny but I definitely don't. If people want to see the greatest spoof movies ever made, look no further than the Zuckers work until the early nineties.
shareI'm sorry, I never call people stupid for having their own opinions on movies, but you are stupid. Very very much so.
Scary Movie got better from 3 on-wards?
Are you on crack?
The last half decent movie those two losers made was Scary Movie 2, THEN every single movie made afterwards was a stinker.
Either you're 10 or have no taste in movies.
Yes this comment sounds extremely ignorant, no I don't care.
Yippee Ki-Yay!
I actually don't think any of the Scary Movies are what I could consider great movies. They are mostly guilty pleasures. I also somewhat enjoyed the first one since the Wayans managed to reign in their sex and drug related humor and there were talented actors who were able to carry it. Part 2 was a mess from start to finish. Part 3-5 are screwball comedies in the tradition of the Zucker's best work and while they are not classics they are good mindless entertainment.
BTW, the Zuckers had nothing to do with Scary Movie 2. With the exception of part 1, I haven't seen anything from the Wayans that I enjoyed from beginning to end.
Totaly agree. Whoever thinks that sexual jokes with handicap with funny looking arm, and other Wayans type of humor is funny, is either 11 years old, retarded, drunk or all of that.
Zucker, however has intelligent humor, and scary movie 3 and 4 are briliant. I havent seen 5 yet.
Scary movie 1 is - how you said Wayand lucky shot, and is quite funny, even though some scenes are really dumb. Scary movie 2 is pure garbage.
ohhhh the horror! And the 'Waynans', umm, it's actually Wayan and Wayans plural- (don't say typo, you spelled it that way twice), are now panhandling in the streets now, right? The Wayans brothers wanted to go toward more R rated content after SM2 and the studio didn't agree and hired David Zucker (Airplane!,The Naked Gun) to direct. The Wayans brothers left for Revolution Studios and Dimension films owned the rights to the Scary Movie franchise. It's hollywood, it happens and the studio wanted more control that the Wayans brothers were willing to give up.
I saw A Haunted House, for a Parnormal Activity parody it was ok, if you want a lot of comedy based on farting and but t sex. Essence Atkins was the only good thing about that film, as she can act.
Scary Movie 5 was funny, just as funny as the other Scary Movies. They did a great job of weaving multiple spoofs. The acting was more than adequate for the genre. It was worth it.
You should probably read my post again, I haven't written "waynans" once. I did write Wayand insted of wayans onse however, and that WAS a typo.
The movie was great! Still laughing!

Not even the people making this trash even liked it.
I can't believe you all gave them money to see what their sh*t looks like.
I'm not mad for paying to see see this. I thought this was pretty funny, and it was way better than Movie 43, and that was a hour and 34 mins of my life I won't get back.
