whoever liked it is really retarded or needs to watch more movies.
Or, maybe (and this is really going to blow your mind), people are, like, you know, capable of forming their own opinions, and sometimes people that are just as smart as you and just as knowledgeable about film as you will come away from a film with a vastly different opinion than you. Like, one person can really like a movie that you really hate, and that doesn't make that person retarded or more ignorant of film than you. I know - a truly mindblowing concept.
A fun fact to file away for future reference: Simply calling someone retarded doesn't make it so. Words and actions are a better judge of intelligence than one's opinion of a film. I love film an awful lot, but I know far too many people who are otherwise very intelligent and well-spoken and capable of making up their own minds (more so than the detractors of this film in this thread, incidentally) who think of the medium as simply a "mindless entertainment" to "turn your brain off for a few hours after a hard day at work" and who consequently pass off any film even attempting for something greater as "pretentious." They're wrong, and objectively so, but that doesn't make them dumb. I know one extraordinarily intelligent individual who really enjoyed "The Fast and the Furious" films (and I know he's extraordinarily intelligent because I, you know, actually talk to him and hang around him rather than instantly judging him based on his taste in movies.)
