Knowing I have seen the most grusome movie ever...

I hated watching this movie but I have to admit it feels good knowing that I have seen the worst of the worst and that no other movie will really bother me as much as this one has (at least for now...)

Yeah, as people have said, the Hostel films are too mainstream etc. to be the most disturbing films ever.
I'd 'recommend' (and I use that word very lightly...) 'Salo' if you want a true disturbing film; it's much worse than irreversible or cannibal holocaust in my opinion. I literally felt sickened for weeks and didn't want to tell anyone I'd watched it in cast they thought I was a nutjob... Seriously, you feel violated after watching it...

oh and just for the record, Hostel 2 was just insanely bad. Apart from the leg scene it was more stupid than disturbing.

That movie made me feel so sick and disgusted at mankind. e_e All the feces stuff and...ughhh so gross.

Have you seen Philosophy of a Knife? Or August Underground Mordum? Hostel is like Twilight compared to those movies.

If you think this is GRUESOME(spell check is your friend) then by all means track down a copy of Salo for family movie night! Just don't be eating chocolate pudding during the dinner scene!

Um... Hostel Part II was actually less violent than the first. In fact, I was surprised by how little violence there was... and how much I still enjoyed watching it. It was far more beautifully shot than any "torture porn" film has the right to be. I loved the editing, too--the long, slow cuts. I'm a sucker for long cuts.

As for films more gruesome than this--c'mon, OP, there's SO many films that are worse than this! The three that probably come up the most are: "Saló, or the 120 Days of Sodom", "Cannibal Holocaust", and "Irreversible". There are many more that can join them (I'd do a list, but it's late at night, and I'm feeling lazy). But these three really stand out. "Saló" for its relentless sexual depravity and mental anguish, "Cannibal Holocaust" for its very graphic violence, and "Irreversible" for that 9-and-a-half minute rape scene (I don't know why people keep mentioning the fire extinguisher scene; yes, it's very violent and sickening, but nowhere near as sickening and heartbreaking as watching a woman get raped and then savagely beaten).

But common to the three of them is that they all have a very strong attitude--they are really feeling what they're trying to say. "I Spit on Your Grave" may be violent and full of rape, but it's not saying much: it's just a rape-and-revenge flick. "Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer" is a great film, but it's what the title says: a portrait. It is more of an observation (a chilling one, to be sure) than a movie trying to say something. And "Caligula" is just plain porn. But Salo, CH, and Irreversible are in my books the three seminal films of the extreme cinema genre because they are more than just gruesome: they are deeply disturbing and deeply unforgettable.

Hostel: Part II was a fun movie to watch. It had great production values, the characters were fun, and Eli Roth's humor is as always dark and twisted. But to call it the most gruesome movie or the most disturbing movie ever is completely incorrect.

Clearly you have never seen 'Irreversable'.

IMHO Salo was pretty inane. It featured some pretty gross stuff but since the story was very overtly dramatic,it didnt affect me at all. Some of the worst in my opinion is The human centipede(a really disturbing and somewhat surreal movie, dont check reviews, just check out the movie),Antichrist(Lars von Trier),Koroshiya 1,cannibal holocaust, red room 1 and 2.I have seen a terrible lot of horror movies and these are the absolute gory shockers.

I like the Hostel movies but if anything i don't think they're violent enough.

HAhH! Hostel is to sick movies what salami is to filet mignon. It's just bad movies with a little fun thrown in. Men Behind the Sun, A Serbian Film, Martyrs, those movies are pretty good, a hell of a lot more fun than Hostel, thats for sure.

Irreversible to I guess, even if it's only two scenes.Cannibal Holocaust is just sad because of the animals... Martyrs and inside is something to check out.

But stay clear of the original I spit on Your Grave, it is often mentioned high up on the most disturbing movies discussions and lists and watching it yesterday I learned that it has absolutely no place there at all. And the August Underground trilogy "The sickest movies of all time" hah, more like "The most annoying and waste of time movies of all time". They are really really dumb and nothing near disturbing.

Ohoh... it's not the most gruesome movie ever... Now "Inside" (À l'intérieur) is a very gruesome movie... Pregnant woman get stabbed in the stomatch with a pair of scissors and such is seen there...

August Undergrounds Mordum is the sickest film ever made. Garunteed.

I just Love Film.
