I like his performance. His way of being nasty but funny. Making every dirty deed seem almost a kindness.
One scene in particular worked very well for me. It was pointed out by another poster who found fault with it:
It was more the writing. He was so one-dimensional. They put in unnecessary scenes of how nasty he is. We get the point so why have the pointless scene of him firing some random maintenance guy for the green water.
As I recall, as the maintenance guy starts to explain what he thinks he might’ve done wrong Pacino leaps in saying "
Don't blame yourself! We should've fired you weeks ago. Goodbye!"
Phoned in or not, his delivery was impeccable there.
"Your thinking is untidy, like most so-called thinking today." (Murder, My Sweet)
