I think the most important thing to do is take a step back and realize that this is a movie about teenaged cheerleaders. I don't think there's going to be any intense background messages about racism in today's world. Also, this movie was made on the basis of entertainment and entertainment only. It depicts the typical high school lifestyle or what people assume is the typical high school lifestyle.
The fact that everyone constantly discusses whose more racist is what keeps racism alive. And yes, there is an overusage of the phrase 'white girl' in this movie. The white girls are depicted as preppy, rich, spoiled brats. The black girls are depicted as defensive, angry, poor people. Both races are shown to be something they're not here.
