When will people realise
That by giving a film a title such as this , it makes it really hard to track down on IMDB? The search engine throws up all sorts of ambiguities.
We, the users of IMDB deserve better.

The only issue that I ran into was when I searched for this movie at my torrent site. I entered "9" and the site replied "Search must be at least 2 characters". lol.
Example of senility.http://img638.imageshack.us/img638/2779/paintx.png
it's really difficult to find a torrent called 9
Why would I save a world I no longer have any stake in?
Well, I had to type in (9), then "Nine", then 9 2009, etc. and just sift through the torrents to find one describing the movie. "This is the animated movie, not the Nicole Kidman movie" was a common post.

I didn't have any trouble finding it on imdb, but a one character title would make it hard to find a torrent to download it.
Same problem with other really short movie/TV titles:
V, 24, O, Pi, for a few examples.
I think it would be almost impossible to download the Vin Diesel movie XXX, but that's really for the best.
IMDB was fine... it was my DVR. Can't do one character searches. "Search Now" button won't even highlight.
Had to catch it when it was already part through and then do an "upcoming times" search and record.

All I can remember now is the agony of holding on
and the wonderful feeling of letting go.

I don't get you people whinging abut trying to find this movie on IMDB?!?! This is what you type as the search string (and I do realise it's not actually a string): 9 - this is the key between the 8 and the 0 (that's a zero, not an Oh, but ONLY on laptop's and when using the number keys above the letters on a QWERTY keyboard. Please do not attempt this by using the number-pad to the right of a QWERTY keyboard), and hit the enter key.
You then get the following results:
----------------------------------------------
Popular Titles (Displaying 1 Result)
1. 9 (2009/I)
Titles (Exact Matches) (Displaying 4 Results)
1. 9 (2005)
2. 9 (2002)
aka "Dokuz" - Turkey (original title)
3. 9 (1996) (VG)
4. 9 (2009/II)
Characters (Exact Matches) (Displaying 1 Result)
1. 9 (9 (2009/I), Elijah Wood)
-----------------------------------------------
Click on the first number 9 on the results page and you get to the movie immediately. You may want to print this reply out and pin it up near your PC/Laptop for future reference. Heaven forbid someone brings out a movie called "10"... Oh wait, they did that already. (To see the review on "10", follow the above instructions, but (this is the hard part) instead of typing a 9, type 10 instead). Good luck!!
Thanks, for helping me find 9 even though I had to read your message 9 times to figure out you were talking about how best to find 9 and there are at least 9 other messages saying the same thing but with 9 times less words but the worst part is this is the 9th time I thought of how stupid this topic on 9 really is.

Thanks for the detailed and clear intstructions. I have a small problem however, my keyboard uses Hungarian layout, and as it so happens, on Hungarian keyboards 0 is actually located on the left end of the numeric row, and where I suspect US keyboards have the 0, I have the letter "ö". Thus, there are a number of keys between 0 and 8 on my keyboard, none of which bring up the character I'm looking for. So I am a little perplexed here. Could you please rework your instructions to take this into account so that I may find the key necessary to look up the movie on IMDb? Thank you.
Live long and prosper
Get a different keyboard.
shareI found it easy enough. But it took some dexterity to click on the one-character hyperlink to get to the film's page...

none of the films have the same title, 9 is the animated film. Nine is the musical. and District 9 has "District" before it so it shouldnt even be confused with. if your looking up 9 then there should be no confusion whatsoever if you know that it is 9 and not Nine. now when explaining to to someone it might be confusing but im pretty sure more people know about this 9 then Nine.
the way.. of the future.. the WAY.. of the future.
yeah, god forbid you have to scratch beneath the surface a bit to find some information you are looking for. there are much more difficult titles to find than this one, which comes up at the top of the list.
These are my opinions.
