This bothered me and ruined the message for me.
What does this tell young girls?That it's ok to steal boys from other girls?

I can't believe that so many people think that this is a good message to bring into a Disney movie.
I think it's a positive message. You don't marry someone because you've been with them for a certain amount of time, or you've reached a certain age. When you find the right person, you'll know it, i.e. the "first love's kiss" metaphor.
