Did the show have a problem with killing off female characters?

Wasnt there a Comic con panel a few years back where the actors of Supernatural got chewed out a little bit over an issue of the show involving female characters getting killed all the time?

Wasn't the fanbase partially to blame for always getting jealous and angry at a major female character? That's what caused characters like Jo and Bella to be axed, and I am sure there are other examples.

I didnt agree with people claiming that. To me, it seemed that almost everyone who met the Winchester boys was given a death sentence. Most of the people they meet end up dying. The biggest sucker punch to my face was when Crowley began systematically killing all the people Dean and Sam saved in the earlier seasons.

Also Supernatural kept some fan favorites like Jody, the girls she saved, and Also Donna! I think the reason why the panel was asked that question is because they were really just upset that Charlie died. I was okay with it, because you got to kill off some fan favorites every once in awhile to keep the tension up and the show fresh.

Its a dangerous world, especially for those who hunt and those caught in the crossfire!

My thoughts too. Feminist tv critics are a buzz kill.

More the merrier, but sad none the less.
