the greatest romanian movie of all time

I want to start a poll on your favourite Romanian movie of all time(because many claimed this one to be it).Mine, after much thinking,is Niki et Flo(Lucian Pintilie's latest film).I'm waiting for suggestions

This just got me wondering: has there ever been made a Dracula movie in Romania??

reply

No, not really. Just about the origin story, historical movies about "Vlad Tepes". Romanian movies never had the budget for an epic story like this one.

Rachel Weisz FOR Catwoman!

I see, pity. Atleast one Dracula movie should be made in Romania, just as well as a Hamlet movie made in Denmark or a Mandela movie in South Africa :-)

it's solid for sure.

"The Death of Mr. Lazarescu" is still one of the best artistic films of the last 20 years 'cause it's so radical and unique.

There are 2 great, forgotten films by the French Henri Colpi that he shot in Romania based on Romanian books (Panait Istrati, Mihail Sebastian) and with some Romanian actors...I guess that qualifies:

"Codine" (1963)

"Mona,l'étoile sans nom" (1966)

If this is to be an example of the "greatest", then I'm skipping every Romanian movie.
