I like a wide variety of movies, but this one did nothing for me.

Didn't care about the main character, it seemed overly long and tedious - and the ending was unsatisfying.

perhaps as a comment against the Romanian health care system it's "effective", but I found it lacking on every level.

I DON'T recommend watching this film.

For a movie to be 2 1/2 hours in length (we spend 6 hours total with Mr Lazarescu), then withhold information on the ending, is unjustified. How unsatisfying. This film has a tonne of dialogue, long scenes, and no ambiguity - not the type of movie to leave the ending to the viewer's mind. Yes, we know he probably survived the surgery and died from something else, but give the viewer something more to wrap it up.
