Harrison Ford was great. What did you think of his performance?
The man hasn't lost it :D
shareI thought that Harrison Ford was wonderful in '42'. I've read a number of major reviews of the film. Many of them failed to give his work sufficient praise. I don't understand why.
sharehe was definitely the best thing in the film and i truly hope he's not forgotten next Winter come oscar time, he seriously is a top contender, so far
and felt slightly unnatural, but it was so bad like I give a sh-t to the nth degree. At least he took a risk and I give him credit for that.

I agree. Best part of the movie and played well for such an "out of the norm" character for him.
shareI thought he did great. Didn't like the make-up job, made him look a bit comedic and fake. He's already pretty old, why the need for fake wrinkles? Lol.

Terrible performance. This was a bad Lifetime movie.
shareI thought he was terrific.
shareOn screen, Harrison Ford is always Harrison Ford, and you know it. His character may have a different name, but he cannot get past the fact that he's Harrison Ford. What I am saying is that he generally is not a good enough actor to make the audience forget he is Harrison Ford. He is very much like John Wayne in that way. People like both men for their style, which is why people pay money to see their films, but neither of them is a character actor who can lose themselves in a role.
That said, I thought Harrison Ford was fantastic in this film. He made me forget he was Harrison Ford, and really buried himself in this role, and grew as an actor. I think he does deserve an Oscar nomination, and probably the Oscar, depending upon what else comes along the rest of the year.
The scene that got me, though, was when he was in his office, on the phone with the Phillies' GM, roaring into the phone that this guy was gonna stand before God one day, warning him that his answer to the Almighty "MAY NOT BE SUFFICIENT!"
I think it was Harrison's intention for people to realize that he was invested in the role that he wanted people to see that he was portraying another character.
shareHe was awful. I'll go so far to say that it's the worst of his career. I guess it doesn't help that I didn't like the Hallmark movie of the month. But he was by far the worst part. Same mannerism that he's been using for the past decade, really stilted and forced. I'm a fan of his and it was painful to sit through.
