I thought someone would comment on the plot hole of the "bad clutch."
A bad clutch could not be jump started the way they did. You'd still need to disengage a clutch to push it up to starting speed, then pop the clutch to turn over the engine.
Now, if it had a bad starter, different story.

1st gear - foot off clutch crank starter
van lurches forward and goes off running at 1st gear speed
after that you dont need the clutch pedal , just match revs to speed and change gear without it.
All of the above is assuming the problem with the clucth is that you can disengage it - e.g cable snapped
If you cant engage it , cos its worn out - you're screwed
