Best Scene In The Movie

When the bomb detonates at the end and Capa is standing in front of the wall of light. I'm seriously getting chills just writing about it. The photography, the music, how the entire story has been building up to that point, it's all sublime. Almost every time I watch this movie that scene makes my eyes water.

Searle is the one who knows they will all die anyway and is OK with it at this point IMO. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to diminish his action.
The only guy who is afraid all the time and not ready to take responsibility is Harvey. Why they would make him second in command is beyond me.

Will Graham: I don't find you that interesting.
Hannibal Lecter: You will.

Icarus I is detached from II and Searle is left alone in Icarus I, he goes to the observatory and when Icarus II departs, the heat shield covering the oberservation room moves , just then he'll witness maximum sunlight and he becomes dust.

When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies but the pack survives.

All of the above. Simply stunning.

I love all of the scenes mentioned above. Love all the shots done inside their helmets, and the shots of their faces off of reflective surfaces.

Did anyone like the first scene with Searle and Icarus and then the outside shot of the ship, letting you know the sun fascinating yet incredibly deadly, and then the calm music back in the ship with Searle fascinated to know how far he can push his eyes to watch more light from the sun. <3

Oh yeah, his face alone speaks so much.

Yes that scene, Capa meeting the Sun, is gorgeous. Almost spiritual. Generally I felt there was something spiritual about this movie.

Honestly for me it was the shield repair with Capa and Kaneda. Bring in the music, the gorgeous sun imagery, Kaneda mesmerized, and Searle talking to him as Capa is screaming at him.

Just that whole scene right there got me in a second.

However, I also love the Mercury scene seeing them all watch the planet and each reflecting.

Hell the whole movie caught me big time, even the last 3rd with Pinbacker. The whole movie was just amazing.

((Damn the remakes, Save the originals.))
