How does an absolute Masterpiece of a movie like this get only a 7.3 here, and end up being a Box Office loser? It boggles the mind.....

Its marketing was hindered by the copyright holders of the Beatles music which prohibited their use of the music in advertising.

If that's true, it then becomes the Directors fault for not securing the proper music rights to market her movie. I know the Jackson estate owns the publishing of the entire Beatles Catalog.

I saw it for the first time last night on dvd, and I absolutely loved it!!! The dance sequences were spectacular, the cinematography very creative, special effects were perfect, but not over the top. The covers were just right, and I thought the fact that it was in the 1960s was also perfect, and a lot could moved to the current situation with the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The intent was not lost on me. Thank you producer for this amazing film!!!

I love it. It's the ultimate comfort movie (at least for me), and I'm watching it right now for the 3484394830948320948203948302th time. :D

^^ It's my comfort movie too! , I LOVE it soooo much. It really rips at my heart for some reason and makes me want to sing and cry at the same time. My 3rd fav movie ever for sure.

I love it, too. Just caught it on FX over the weekend. Not really Oscar material, but really strikes a chord with people who "get it."

By the way, I did HATE the American Idol Beatles night. Some people compare the two. I think that's comparing apples and oranges.
