Was it a good decision to have Michael Keaton sport a toupée?

Or should we just have seen him as the bald man he is? It's not like it would be a shock, we've seen him bald for a long time now, particularly in the movie The Founder and Spiderman Far From Home.

Yes he had to have the toupee to bring back his B89/BR look (also he playing younger 2013 era around time he filmed Robocop/Birdman when he had bit more hair) Bruce Wayne is the classic leading man character so def needs a full head of hair

I think it would have worked either way. Men lose hair with age. No biggie.
