Nolan did not want his Batman trilogy to be entangled with other DC superhero movies when he was at WB and Bale has stated in the past he wouldn’t portray Batman without Nolan.

Yes, I realise Nolan's and Bale's positions on any continuation, it's just a shame WB couldn't work something out. I'm sure it will have jarred with a lot of people who don't follow these things like we do.

Wouldn't Nolan being the film break the fourth wall? It's a bit much.
