Zack Snyder sooo excited to see The Flash and regularly texts his "pal" Ezra Miller!

Direct quote from Zack Snyder:

“We’re gonna see it next weekend. SUPER excited! You know, Ezra – I love [them]. I’ve been texting with [them]. I’m just excited to see it.”

---------------------------------------

Have fun, Zack! I won't be joining you. But that's okay cuz you get to support your good buddy Ezra that you text all the time! Great guy, right? NO regrets on casting him!

By the way, your fans tell me I should be worried that James Gunn supports creeps and will make DC "go woke".

reply

Well, the first step to 'wokeness' is respecting a person's pronouns.

So, whilst I fundamentally agree with your underlying critique of Snyder, Miller, and Snyder's die-hard fans, and personally look forward to what Gunn will do with DC, now that the DCEU/SnyderVerse debacle is drawing to an end (and not a moment too soon), I would still ask that as loathesome as Ezra may be as an individual, we should still respect *their* pronouns.

reply

>> I would still ask that as loathesome as Ezra may be as an individual, we should still respect *their* pronouns. <<

The media can't even keep up their own narrative on this "rule", for example, they continuously refer to the transgender Nashville shooter as "she", rather than "respect HIS pronouns" and claim a guy did the shooting because the shooter "identified" as male at the time of the shooting.

Many of us thus wrongly assumed the shooter was a biological MALE, because the media kept using the pronouns "she" to describe the transgender shooter.

So if I don't have to "respect Audrey Hale's pronouns" because of how loathesome SHE is, I sure don't have to respect Ezra!

reply

I think there is some inconsistency in how we refer to trans women and trans men.

But I would insist we respect Audrey Hale's pronouns (i.e. He) just as we should refrain from referring to trans women who commit similarly serious crimes as 'He' rather than 'She'. The biggest offenders here are often Trans-Exclusionary Radical Feminists (i.e. people, usually women, who purport to be the 'goodies' and 'progressives' but are anything but, and are among the most reactionary, bigoted and right-wing people in society).

reply

Imagine the outcry from the Snyder stans if it was Joss Whedon that did this but it seems good old Snyder can do no wrong in their eyes.

Yep, you nailed it. One set of rules for Snyder, and one set of rules for everyone else.

It's like how they went ballistic at the mere POSSIBILITY of Lex Luthor being race-swapped in the Superman & Lois TV series (the character turned out to be John Henry, who was ALWAYS black in the comics, but no Snyderites apologized for jumping to conclusions) but they had absolutely NO problems with Zack Snyder race-swapping Perry White in the Snyderverse (just try to imagine Laurence Fishburne exclaiming "Great Caesar's Ghost!" if you think that was accurate casting)

Or how they demanded we not "JUDGE" that Jesse Eisenberg will be a terrible Lex before we've SEEN the film (spoiler alert, he was terrible, and not a single Snyderite has apologized and admitted to being wrong) but they have no problem JUDGING James Gunn's Superman will be awful before ANYONE has seen it.

Or how they constantly go all over social media "warning" us that Superman & Lois and Gunn's Superman universes will "eventually go woke", but they had no problem whatsoever with Snyder calling his OWN fans racists!

If it weren't for double standards, Snyderites would have no standards at all!

The Snyder Fans are indeed one of THE most toxic, and wrongminded, fanbases in pop culture, but, once again, in all fairness, I do think Snyder himself comes across as a mostly decent and likeable individual.

The only problem is that he occasionally encourages, albeit subtly, his fanbase to continue behaving like brats, rather than do the honourable thing and ask them to be more decent.

reply

Yeah, agree with all of this.

reply

People have spent years attacking Snyder and accusing him of being a horrible person just because they don’t like his capeshit, not to mention the people who mocked the death of his daughter. He doesn’t owe those people anything.

>>> he occasionally encourages, albeit subtly, his fanbase to continue behaving like brats, rather than do the honourable thing and ask them to be more decent. <<

The greatest irony is the Snyderites tout what an ideal Superman Henry Cavill supposedly is by gushing about what a "classy" guy he is. It seems lost on them that Cavill's fanboys are anything BUT "classy". "Wah, I can't have my Snyderverse Superman back, I'm gonna photoshop Henry Cavill ripping off James Gunn's head for payback!!!"

I hope Cavill is at least embarrassed by the behavior of his fanboys in PRIVATE, because Snyder certainly isn't!

reply

To be fair, Joss Whedon is a notorious sex pest, bully and hypocritical pseudo-'feminist'.

Zack Snyder may be a hack filmmaker with a very toxic fanbase, but on a personal level, he is generally well-regarded as a decent and nice guy who treats his cast and crew with respect and affection.

So, setting aside their respective filmographies for a moment (and I personally think there is good and bad, and VERY bad, in both their oeuvres), honestly, FUCK Joss Whedon. 😠👊🏿

I thought the superman women was hot. It ending like a twilightzone episode when the conflict was resolved. I had to see how it ended , so they kept me in my seat.
