I Mean, It Worked for Spider-Man, So...

Some DC exec saw No Way Home and was like, "hell, we've had a bunch of Batmans... let's multiverse 'em all into a new movie!"

Why do I get the feeling DC's implementation of the idea wont match up with Marvel's?

reply

This movie finished filming a couple of months before NWH was even released, and Keaton’s return was announced back in the Summer of 2020.

reply

The movie had massive reshoots, And editing. They definitely saw how well
Spider-Man did. Is seeking the same magic

reply

They didn’t add Keaton in reshoots.

reply

The movie has been in development for 9 years

reply

Early estimates have this grossing between $800m to $1b. Going to be epic with Batfleck and Keaton back.

reply

There doesn't seem to be much hype around it to me.

reply

There wasn't much hype for Avatar 2 and Top Gun 2 as well.

reply

Flashpoint was a thing long before any so-called "Spider-verse".

reply

Is that really relevant? What tiny percent of the world is aware of whatever Flashpoint is? Only the most ardent of comic book readers. The studio execs are out for a buck, and they saw Marvel put Maguire, Garfield, and Holland together in a film and make billions, so now they're putting a bunch of previous Batman actors together in a film and crossing their fingers. :)

reply

I mean, you have no idea what you're talking about, So. . .
Why NOT post some nonsense?

Some Random MovieChat poster saw a movie was coming out, had a kneejerk reaction, and decided to start a thread instead of doing 30 seconds of research to keep from looking silly.

Hint: This movie is based on a Flashpoint story that DC did, in 2011.
Second Hint: You're Exactly Wrong.

Why do I get the feeling that you'll respond with illogic and justifications, instead of owning your mistake?

reply

If you really think they didn't decide to do a "whole bunch of old Batman actors show up together in a movie because Multiverse" after Marvel did ""whole bunch of old Spider-Man actors show up together in a movie because Multiverse," then you don't understand how Hollywood works.

reply

Aaaaaaaaaand there it is. . .predicted stupidity confirmed. Congrats!

reply

You can lob insults all you want, it won't make you right. The DC execs saw what worked for Marvel and are mimicking it. That's how Hollywood works.

reply

You can repeat your stupidity all you like, it won't make you a Hollywood insider. You simply don't have any idea what you're talking about, and the fact of the matter (which you continue to ignore) is that DC DID THIS STORY FIRST. I realize you're mentally incapable of tracking the logic here, so rest assured: I don't expect you to have a facepalm moment. I'm just here because, sometimes, incredible idiocy amuses me. Carry on. . .

He doesn't know much. He's just a gushing Marvel disciple who will say anything to support those movies over others. His box office analysis has been exposed a number of times for making contradictory claims to put down non-Marvel movies, or to prop up lower performing Marvel movies.

You're wrong, and hiding behind insults and bluster to avoid admitting it. Welcome to my list of blocked users. Go ahead and blather into the ether all you want.

reply

LMAO: Translation: "I've shown myself to be an incredible muppet, so since I can't support my ridiculous viewpoints I'm gonna run away, now."

Cool. Run away, now.
