Sasha Calle as Supergirl

"Calle is the first Latina actress to portray Supergirl."

So, I googled "Sasha Calle as Supergirl" to see photos of how she looks in the upcoming movie.

Yikes.

Apparently the "DCEU" must still be using the same casting director who told them that Jesse Eisenberg would make an AWESOME Lex Luthor.

Someone PLEASE kill this "universe".

Sasha Calle is hot in real life. WTF is with Supergals hair?

It's regrettable that DC hasn't yet cast a Vietnamese quadriplegic transexual who indulges in bestiality as Superman, If we don't check off all of those Woke boxes, The Progressive God is going to rein hellfire down on us for our sins

Agreed.

I'm all for inclusion/best actor for the role/bold new directions, but

A) It has to make sense
B) DON'T f*ck w/my legacy characters.

What's annoying is that this will give ammo to the idiots who yammer endlessly WHENEVER there's a departure. And take the opportunity to bleat nonsense about "wokeness." The fact that This is an idiotic piece of casting (as is Ezra for Flash, since we're all here) is unfortunate but hardly a reason to condemn such things across the board.

In theory, there could be a "latina actress" who ACTUALLY fit the character and looked and acted like the Supergirl from the comics (for example, many spanish-speaking Argentinians are naturally blond haired and blue eyed). That being said, Sasha Calle may be cute in real life but she IN NO WAY is a comic book accurate Supergirl, and the on-set photos of her as Supergirl IN NO WAY resemble the source material.

And I agree they should cast the role with the best actress who fits the part, regardless of ethnicity.

As I noted, the "DCEU" has been garbage from the start and should have been killed a long time ago. On another board they are claiming this movie will "erase most of the Snyderverse" and will replace Affleck as Batman with Michael Keaton from the Burtonverse, going forward.

Let's hope so! And erase the crappy faux Supergirl by the end of the film!

THIS!!!!
If they had cast an Argentinian who was an amazing actress AND looked like Supergirl, we could've had a Real conversation about diversity, respecting the source material, race as a social construct, ethnicity vs nationality vs cultural identity, etc, etc, etc. . .What an incredible idea.

No idea how they've so thoroughly screwed up the DCEU. Talk about a gimme. . .unlimited budget, incredible characters and a rich mine of stories from which to choose. Given that, looking back over what we've seen is creative high crimes and misdemeanors.

Sigh.

I'm with you on Ezra. Horrible casting. As far as Supergirl, I guess they are going with a different universe Supergirl. I hope they do a different universe Flash in the movie. Maybe an older blonde haired actor. Val Kilmer? Daniel Craig?

They need a reboot. The only thing that excites me about this movie is Keatons return as Batman. The race swapping woke pandering is a turn off.

If this film does indeed erase the Snyderverse and brings Michael Keaton's Batman from the Burtonverse into the "DCEU", they can strike while the iron is hot and promptly replace Cavill's dour Superman with the Routh/Reeve version of Superman, and erase their godawful 'latina Supergirl' from continuity mere moments after they CREATED her!

Now THAT would be worth watching
