Robot Chicken Becoming....eh..

Don't get me wrong I've been watching the show since it started out and have my number of favorite skits i.e. Bitch Pudding, The Two Michael Jacksons, anything with Mortal Kombat in it, and the Fumble's GI Joe Sketch. But after watching one of the newer episodes I feel that the show has taken a more sexual turn i.e. The beauty and the beast skit, the boy and his teddy bear, and that part in the holy grail sketch. Now I don't mind some of these sketches for instance I like the she-ra sex tape with beastman, because it wasn't overtly sexual. What I'm saying is that the show can do a lot better without putting too much sex in there.

It's becoming less and less funny to me only because I don't get the references. They used to make fun of things that were common knowledgs (Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, The Brady Bunch, Michael Jackson, the Keebler cookie elves) but now I don't understand the references. I mean who the *** is that short guy who punctuates everything with "snarf snarf", and who are these guys who call themselves "cats" but they all look different and they walk on two legs and speak English. I no longer get the humor.

Both of those things are references to a show (Thundercats) which they've referenced since season one, along with a host of other 80s action cartoons. 80s and early 90s toons are probably one of their biggest sources for spoof material, and have been since the beginning, including more obscure shows than Thundercats.

The target audience is pretty much people who grew up with at least some knowledge of stuff like GI Joe, Thundercats, Ninja Turtles, He-Man, Gobots, etc.

You've...honestly never heard of ThunderCats?

The only thing that annoys me lately is that you can hear Seth Green so many times in 1 sketch. It's fine if he does two voices, but shouldn't be more than that. It's just one guy conversing with himself then. At least, that's how I notice it.

Yawn, seriously you loved bitch pudding (one of their most overused and now boring sketches) but you are bothered by anything sexual? jesus christ.
