S10 Ep2 Smile depressed me

Ah man. So disappointing. I liked the concept -- especially what the place was made of -- but those smiley robot dudes were, sigh, sub-par. The emotis meant to signify emotions were confusing -- especially the KILL one, which did not depict what it meant to depict. Capaldi seemed a bit out of it, try as he might. He looked pale and in need of makeup. I never saw him look that bad and even wondered if there was health issues going on. A throwaway episode IMO with a very lame ending. Reboot takes care of it? Lazy writing that depresses me. They should have called it "Vacation" bc they really took a vacation here just 2 eps into the season.

Well, well, well... if you taken MY advice to BOYCOTT "Series 10" from the start, you wouldn't have had your memories of the Capaldi era tainted by the latest garbage they're churning out at the BBC.

The SAME "creative team" will be ruining Doctor Who for the REST of this season, so perhaps you should strongly consider tuning OUT until Moffat is gone. The final episode I watched with Capaldi was The Return of Doctor Mysterio, so I got to see him go out on a high note. Watching the rest of "Series 10" can serve no purpose than to forever taint your memories of the Twelfth Doctor when you see the franchise at its most pathetic point in history.

I just feel really bad for Capaldi. He deserved far, far better than this. I consider him the "Timothy Dalton" of the Doctor Who franchise -- an actor who could have very well been the definitive version of the character, except that he had the misfortune to inherit the role when the franchise was at its creative nadir.

Alas, I'm too addicted to boycott, but i do agree Capaldi has been given short shrift in the role. He is one of my favorites and rises above the recent shortcomings. i.e., I like him too much not to watch.

This last season seems pretty phoned in to me. I think they're just spinning the wheels till the new people take over.

Good point, "Series 9" was a letdown and not very interesting, but "Series 10" is an outright abomination. The show is basically running on fumes now. Moffat seems to have said "screw it" and given up on trying to make good episodes since he know he's leaving at the end of the year and his successor will not continue on with any of the show's current direction or cast.
