I just saw this movie and am not sure if anyone else asked this question but...
Why is that school so dark, especially in the cafeteria?
LOL....for REAL...I think they did the dim lighting just to give it the proper "mood," but they went way overboard with it and it ended up being pretty annoying.
shareI KNOW!! first i ent 'ok it's dark...it's adding drama. i guess it won't be for long' then it stayed dark for the WHOLE entire movie. i couldn't see anything.

Ha Ha, it was just for dramatic effect. But it was kind of geting on my nerves too. You were seeing this movie through the life of Vanessa's eyes. In her world everything was dark, solem, and depressing.

I think they were trying to emphazise that high school can be a dark, evil place .. which of course it is.

I completly agree with you moonlightkisu...but I was wondering WHY it was so darn dark. Whjen I saw light again I was shocked.

yeah i just saw the movie yesterday with my friends and we all kept complaining were like WHY DONT THEY HAVE ANY FLIPPIN LITES ON? it kinda got annoying after a while.
shareI kept saying wow their school is like mine, * they just built our multi million dollar school and now they can't afford to pay the light bill until they get the school paid off this year...so for a few months like only half the lights stay on in the hall way and lunch room* it makes it kinda cool though lol*

It's because they are all vampires and they cannot be exposed to light.

I was thinking the same thing but then I remembered what I learned in English in my Junior year. It's only dark when something mean or hurtful is going to happen & it's more within high school. And plus the raining happens when Vanessa breaks down.
