Does this really happen in USA?

Im a 16 year old girl and i live in scotland, and i have to admit that the bullying that goes on in most of scottish schools is really nothing like whats shown in this film. Nothing is really schemed or planned by girls to bully other girls. Girls just tend to bitch behind eachothers back but be nice to the person in real life, and nobody really acts on what they say. Its only some girls that shout abuse at others, but nothing really on a large scale, and nothing so calculated as shown in this film!

Does this actually happen to people in America whats shown in this film?

well, some of it may happen but the reaction that the girl took and the mother was high too dramatic. they may say she is fat or something like that, but it's a matter of if it bothers you or not, which it shouldn't and you should be happy for who you are. its rather a stupid movie, and is taken way more dramatically than what actually happens. so don't believe much of it.

i went to a christian school and yes it happens there too
i was bullied big time in jr high by girls
this is reality in america
girls are this bad and this hateful
i just saw this movie for the first time and it really made me mad
especially how the school adminstrators do nothing about it
i dont have to wonder why there are school shootings on campus in high schools
and it doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out that that the shooter was the one being bullied
and the targets were the bullies
i am not saying what they did was right but i def understand how they feel
its not a crime to think about doing it
but it sure it to carry it out
this movie is very accurate
esp over a boy no less
girls do this
and i applaud whoever wrote this

whats really interesting in life is somtimes bullies never change
age and growing up doesnt affect that

bullies should be treated like criminals becuase what they are doing is verbal abuse
and i have heard of a gal who actually killed herself over something similar

bullies should be thrown into juvenile hall
they should really get a dose of their own medicine

there needs to be legislation about this
i hate it when poeple are so utterly ignorant and say well they just kids
theyll grow out it

some of the most hateful things that happened to me happened in jr high and high school

the only reason why it stopped
my bro was a big man on campus
captain of footbally team student body

i learned that he and his football buddies actually threatened bodily harm to them if they didnt stop
well it all the sudden stopped

bullies need to be bullied

thats why i think there should be a special bootcamp just for bullies
that would be very fair

i know this was a just a movie
but it was the best example of aret imitating life

this happens
and in real life its not a movie

i remember dr phil addressed this
how sick he was that bullies never seem to be caught
no student will report it
usually no evidence of it
poeple too afraid to report

so he came up with this bully pledge that he had going around schools
and the school would sign it

take an oath that they would not tolerate bullies anymore and would report it

video cameras were even installed

gosh bullies can really ruin someones life

This really happens some places in the U.S., and the bullying sometimes progresses to bullets.

Yep, it happens. I'm 57 now, but when I was in 6th through 8th grades, I was bullied, of course there was no internet back then, but this type of thing did happen to me, a classmate that said she was my best friend turned everyone against me, etc. I've seen it happen among younger kids, luckily I had a son and not a daughter, because my opinion is that girls are incredibly mean.
