Mark Wahlberg must have been skint at the time, or owed someone a favor.

To be in this movie, theres no redeeming features in this film whatsoever,
its terrible in every way you look at it, the acting, the cheap budget, the laughable plot (how can you have a shoot out in the middle of a street, killing dozens of people, and no one gets arrested on firemarms charges?), the pathetic ending everything just plain sucks..

Did this make it to the cinema, or was it a straight to DVD release?..

I want my 2 hours back..

Yep!
I was shocked, a truly terrible film
Luckily it is tv at the moment.... so I am about to turn it off.
Only lost an hour of my life, I will make it up by sleeping a little less tonight

It's a wooden pickle

I was watching it last night as well, on Film 4.
It wasn't too bad, but it wasn't good either.
5/10 from me.

They could have edited out more of the violence but overall, I love watching Mark Wahlberg in this one! He's so good at being an urban macho guy! He's got an edge to him that bounces from frightening to just easy-going. He's comfortable with other black actors and it shows in this film. Even in some other films you can catch an urban-esque word or phrase here & there and I like that.

Tyrese is a treat to watch, too!

Not everyone speaks ebonics, thanks

the redeeming feature is that it was shot in my hometown- Hamilton, On.

reply

Well, now I'm gonna kill your mother and see if you dont go on some whacky adventures trying to catch me. Ha-ha!

reply

I dont know how you could not love this movie? This is in my top 5 favorites ever. Everything in this was great. The acting, the plot, the direction, ect. It was masterful.

reply

I could probably watch this movie 100 times and not be bored with I love it it's hilarious, action packed, and just a good movie.

And to whoever said they should have edited out some violence, that is ridiculous it's a violent movie if you didn't know that going into it that's your problem I love every minute of this movie.

I enjoyed the movie but the dialog was too often over the top. The film came off more as action/entertainment rather than a serious emotional drama; the plot line seemed to demand the latter (see Sleepers, which is a much better film with a somewhat similar theme....avenging an awful crime).

reply

Agree entirely. I couldn't figure out if it was supposed to be a serious thriller or a comedy?!

reply

Terrible movie. Watched it for Garrett Hedlund and couldn't finish it. How anyone can actually enjoy this steaming pile of crap is beyond me.

reply

No, this film was never gona be an Oscar winner, but to say that the acting was bad and has no redeeming features is insane. The character development between all four brothers was fantastic. There are very touching scenes too, especially those when talking about their dead mother. I'm sick of people bashing films for not being realistic. Sometimes it's good to escape realism!

I think you are a right royal idiot for making comments like that

My Voting history is secret;)

reply

Yeah, it was that terrible that it managed to generate $75,000,000 in revenue *rolls eyes*
