The Poorest film in the IMDB top 250

Whilst I agree that I must be in the minority here, I must admit to being baffled at the high rating. I don't recall laughing once.

When I compare the comedies of the last 40 years to this - and I realise how mnay greats this has topped - then I start to worry about the world we live in.

No wonder this planet is doomed - 90% of its inhabitants are idiots! (yes, i'm in the 10%)

John Candy would be spinning in his grave.

"What are you looking at? - ya Hockey-puck"

Everything about this film is brilliant- maybe you are just bitter?

Oh my God, change your user name much, sad sack?

You are so sad, honey. Get out and live life. Every 6 months or so, I get on IMDB to see what folks think of this show or that show and invariably, this dOOOsh is all over the boards.

IMDB users: if you've broken a leg and are laid up with nothing else to do ...check out Caleb SJ's unending posts. It's hilarious--you will not be disappointed. If you dare to post a comment he/she disagrees with, you'll be called an idiot and "probably American"...even though half of her funny little comments pertain to American television.

Back to Hot Fuzz..this movie sucked dog b*lls.

Yes, John Candy, star of "Wagon's East" and "Canadian Bacon".

I found the original english version of Hot Fuzz extermely funny (never ever go and watch the german dubbed one). It just seems to require a certain humour. For example i find most of Monty Python boring and still thing that "Water" is the best comedy ever made.

This movie requires a certain point of view on typical police behaviour - if you dont share it it will not be funny. Thats why there are very few Comedy movies in the top 250.

Show me what you are laughing at and it tell you what person you are.

John Candy would find you an abomination.

He was an amazing comedian with an eye ever on trying to push things. He passed on more than a few roles because he thought others could make much much more from them roles. Rick Moranis being one of the most notable comedians to benefit from Candy's ethic and desire to see new and wonderful comedy.

No doubt in my mind the guy who did "Great Outdoors", "Summer Rental" and "Uncle Buck" flicks that should have been utter pablum and failures based on the topic and script, would have found Hot Fuzz hilarious.

Just stumbled upon this thread I created some 8 years ago.

Have to say, i'm a little embarrassed at how obnoxious I was but I'm smiling as I read through the posts. Apologies to all I offended.

The Jobo of 2016 thinks very differently. I'm still not a fan of the movie but can appreciate why others are.

Hope all well in your respective lives.

Regards

Jobo

Gotta agree.

Surely the most overrated film of the last 20 years?
