Why are these two together? Because they're damaged? They are just depressing to watch. Amelia always looks sad and unhappy, Owen looks like he wants something more (or someone else). It's like they walk on eggshells around each other.

Terrible. The two actors have zero chemistry, in my opinion. Cristina and Owen had a ton of chemistry so I bought their tragic romance. This pairing is... dreadful.
shareI am in total agreement...even if I didn't already HATE the Amelia character from watching Private Practice...I still wouldn't be able to stand watching Owen and Amelia together because they couldn't possibly have less chemistry and I really don't understand why they are being rammed down our throats...they go out on like 2 dates and then get married...then like 30sec. later we have to deal with the inane "is she pregnant?" storyline which was effing AWFUL!

shareFret not, Shonda does not let these things last long. You know they won't make it. No couple does. MerDer did until they killed him off. That so far is the only couple to not break up or divorce.

shareI feel the opposite. I didn't like seeing him with Christina, it was obvious that he wanted things that she could or would never give him. I feel Amelia is a much better match for him and softens his character. It's interesting to see how different people can watch the same show and get such different views out of it.
shareWhat I don't get is how Owen and Amelia know so little about each other. They got married not knowing pretty major things about each other - Owen had never told her that he had choked Cristina in a PTSD episode, and Amelia never told him about her boyfriend who OD'd with her and then died. Those are pretty major things for your SPOUSE not to know.
shareI wish they'd have an episode where they'd just sit down and talk things out with each other, before trying for a baby. Amelia is the type of person who keeps some intense stuff bottled up and then gets depressed about her own sad life every three months without sharing why (but then gets pissy when people ask/help, lol).
So yeah, I agree that they're walking on eggshells but I think they could easily rectify the situation by *communicating*. The episode last week was a good start, but Amelia still hasn't told him about the unicorn baby, which I think is a huge thing to keep secret. & Owen obviously has his own host of issues: Cristina + baby, Beth the old fiance, Teddy? I don't know, the list is probably longer.

Owen did know about the baby. She told him about the baby in the episode where April and Jackson lost Samuel.
shareOwen deserves better. I want him with Kepner personally but if not her someone else. New character. I'd like Amelia killed off. I can't stand her.
shareThere is no way I want Owen and April together, not even counting the age difference, but he is too damaged for her. So they shared a war zone together, but nothing like what he experienced in prior calls of duty. I wouldn't mind Teddy returning (far better than Murphy)
