I Love you!
"Just Looking," (1999) directed by Jason Alexander.
shareI wrote one similar to this movie, that takes place in San Francisco and the two leads are 12-13 a little bit older, just because it deals with my childhood memories and that's when I discovered first love/crushes. It is a little more edgy in the fact that it deals with a little bit more drama (Death/Fear/Abuse) but not in that horror film kind of way.
My screenplay has a little mixture of Little Manhattan, My Girl, Great Expectations, Sandlot 2, a couple others that have escaped my mind right now.
Look for it under "Unproduced Scripts" on simplyscripts.com (May take a week for it to show up so be a little patient) It's called "Small Romantic"

I think "Rich Kids" is similiar
shareCinema Paradiso is similar in some ways and really beautiful.
shareTry Bride to Terabithia. it's not exactly love, but still
Have you ever felt the sunshine?
So brilliantly, raining down
over you and me.
The funny thing is that I watched Cinema Paradiso, after seeing 'Little Manhattan'.
Paradiso revisits the past (in memory and physically) from an older perspective. the narrator in manhattan recalls the account after two weeks. That makes the big difference between the two films for me...
here is a following list of movies i reccommend...
My Girl 1&2
Just Looking
Rich Kids
A Little Romance
Try to look up other movies on here under 'first love'
or first kiss or whatever and something will turn up

Check out 'Jeremy' 1973 with Robby Benson and Glynnis O'Conner. This is first movie for both. These two actors also did a movie called 'Ode To Billy Joe' three years later.

'Jeremy' plot summary: Jeremy Jones is learning Cello at an arts school in New York. At school he spots Susan Rollins, who practices for a ballet audition, and he falls in love on first sight. He's very diffident in nearing her, so he gets some help of his experienced friend Ralph. Susan's first impression isn't great, until she hears him play his Cello. The movie paints a quiet image of him winning her heart and the development of their relationship.
Since it's from the 70's the subject of teenage sex is not as uptight as it would be today. These two 14(?) years old are shown 'doing it' on Jeremy's bedroom floor. Artfully shot so the audience can't see any naughty bits. The movie and script are low key and with a sense of realism not seen today. It's not over produced and polished like the crap of the last 30 years. Shot in 18mm so it's kind of fuzzy, but it gives in a indie feel even more so. Great soundtrack to!
Favorite scene: Jeremy showing Susan how he 'horse races' strangers to the street corner.
I saw it via NetFlix.
Very surprised no one has mentioned this 'first love' film yet.
Friends (1971)
Two young teens spend the summer together in a countryside French villa. Elton John provided the soundtrack.
