shareI'm gay and I absolutely loved this film. It's one of my favorite Drama/Independent films of all-time. It's heartfelt, touching, and REAL. Zegers and Huffman were Oscar-worthy.

The lesbian women I've mate HATE this movie...a few gay men I knew liked it.
Myself, I liked it. Transgendered people are just as interesting as gay, lesbian and straight people. We ALL Have family troubles with people accepting us as who we are, we've all have issues with people trying to force us to be something we're not, and we've all been through changes in our lives that force us to be the people we are, whether they be operations, emotional problems, depression, etc.
People are people. I don't think this movie should have any negative points; all it should do is open some peoples eyes, and entertain at the same time.
I fall under the G part of LGBT and I thought this film was near perfect. It's in my top 10 favorite movies that I have seen thus far, for sure, and I love most everything about it and find it completely enjoyable and beautiful with every watch. Truly magnificent what was accomplished with such a tender subject; excellent performances as well. This film was robbed at the Academy Awards.
I'd rather be disemboweled with a toothbrush.
I'm bisexual and I loved this movie. It's realistic, kind, teaches people to be better towards each other, in a very original context :)

I liked it. An engaging film, and I think Hauffman's performance is very good despite reading opposite opinions.
However, it does take a bit of a nosedive about half an hour from the end and it doesn't quite recover.
Still, a tragic and beautiful film.
This might be a really stupid question, but why are so many people on this board using the phrase "LGBT" as if it only refers to gay men and lesbians?
LGBT = Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgendered, right?
