He plays the same role in every movie!

I kind of liked him in Juno, because that role seemed to fit the movie. But he plays the meek, shy, and mumblig character in every movie! Even his "alter ego" in this movie seems the same as him, really! I haven't seen the movie yet, so I'm just judging by the commercial.

But am I alone in thinking that he plays the same, exact character in every movie?

Being the average looking skinny kid he is, I think it's more about playing it safe, if he ever dare to enter stranger tides acting the total opposite of his typecasted roles, he might found himself out of work, I'm not mad anyways, he's great at playing the mild funny kid, his sense of humour is unique and refreshing, put him beside the wild crazy funny guy and you got a winning duo.

now this is acting: http://www.imdb.com/media/rm2458172160/tt1528718

I skipped all the bitter arguing

Morgan Freeman = watch Lean On Me and his earlier roles.

I agree with the OP. IMO, Michael Cera is completely wooden. All I've seen him do is have a blank expression or smile and this is best on Arrested Development, Scott Pilgrim, this movie and Juno.

Each their own.

It's true that Cera plays the same role in every movie, but that's the sort of actor he is. He is limited and type cast from an early age. There's nothing particularly wrong with this. There will always be parts for him, as long as does it well. There are plenty of actors that play one role really well. For example: Hugh Grant, Steve Martin, Woody Allen etc.

Yeah, I thought it was just me. Him and Jesse Eisenberg trip me out with all the roles they get. In the past I understand when certain good looking actors like Keanu Reeves kept getting roles, but now we have guys who are cannot act and are average looking that keep getting roles. I will say the one movie where I thought he fit was Scott Pilgrim Vs the World. In this movie, and others, I do not think he is that great. Watching him gives me an awkward feeling, and maybe that is the intent, but if it is the intent in movie after movie something is wrong.

He does play the same person in each movie. An exceptionally annoying actor.
