'I'm Puerto Rican and Built Differently'

The reason why Carmen is fat is not because Puerto Ricans are curvier. She's not curvy, she's fat because she eats more calories than she burns. I know some Puerto Ricans that are curvy, but they're not fat. There's a difference between curvy and fat.

Well, it's actually very true that certain ethnic groups naturally carry more body fat than others. I know many women of color who are dancers and athletes, but still look "fat" no matter how hard they run the treadmill. I hate it more when white people say, "Ew, I'm so fat. I have a black girl's ass." More often than not, I hear white people say that certain other ethnic groups are "fat" or ugly because they don't fit the white standard of beauty.

A. Yes, America Ferrera is of Mexican decent, but her *character* is Puerto Rican. There's a difference betweeen the actor and the character that they play- they are not one in the same. It's called "make believe". B. America Ferrera is not fat. She has is a nice, healthy weight and only looks larger because she resides in the land of Hollywood where everyone weighs 90 pounds because they don't eat.

There are thin and fat people in all nationalities and ethnicities. And if you really want to go there, perhaps it should be pointed out that USA is considered the country with more obese people in the planet.

She did not say that she was built differently because she's Puerto Rican, she said she was both Puerto Rican and built differently.

She was implying the she was different from the white family that moved in with her dad because she's Puerto Rican and they aren't.

She then pointed out her curves and being built differently
