Best Dean Learner/Thornton Reed quotes

"When my wife died I was so upset I could barely finish my lunch!"

I am your boss. I AM your boss.

I love it when Dean Learner says, "They've taken over!" after the scene ended in Apes of Wrath. Now every time that line pops up in another movie I have a flashback.

Edit: I've just started watching Tabitha's Salon Takeover on Bravo. When she says,"Give me the keys, I'm taking over." I howl.

Greetings,
Need I say more? You are remembered.

You all know the scene, but I just couldn't help myself.

(Dag gets up to leave, but pauses for a few seconds)
R: Not so fast Mister! Where were you last night?
D: Nowhere.
R: Nowhere?
D: That's right: nowhere.
R: Nowhere can be a lonely place to be.
D: I get by.
R: It's just I've been hearing some things.
(Dag turns around)
D: What things?
R: Lotta things. Strange things. Crazy things. Things, Dag.
D: Things?
R: Things.
D: Maybe you shouldn't believe very "thing"you hear Thornton.
R: You're hiding some "thing" Dag. I could swear it. I'm gonna give you 24
hours to get your sorry ship to shore, or I'll do everything in my power
to 'unt you down.
D: I dunno what you're talking about.
R: 24 hours Dag, 24 hours.
(Dag gives him a look)
23 hours 59 minutes. Don't make me stand here and count.
D: Seeya later. I would stay, but the air's starting to stink around here.
R: Not from me it's not. I just went.
(Fly lands on Dag's nose. He leaves. Reed slams the door after him and it opens out again.)

I love the bit at the end of the 4th episode (the ape one) when Dean Learner is talking about Madeleine Wool's disappearance and his theory that she ended up in the Eastern Bloc.
'So you think she's still alive?'
'No I think she's buried there. If she got a burial.'
HAHAHA.

Now you better make me a pill that cures madness, or I'll kick your ass so hard you'll be able to build a pool in the footprint!

They just aired "Skipper The Eyechild" and I laughed that part where he wonders how a man was able to get pregnant then says "I guess we'll never know". Then he stresses that we'll never know and breaks the fourth wall by assuring "You're not gonna find out later."

Also liked the part where he talks about his late son and how he could beat him at almost everything, but that the boy could do one thing better than him, and that was jump. Then he gets very serious and explains how that skill would ultimately be the boy's undoing but that he'd need a glass of scotch to tell that story.

Later in that episode (who knows whether he had a glass of scotch at the time) he does a voiceover and says that jumping and helicopter blades were involved.

I'm guessing the other skipper (the one killed by wasps) was somebody's non-fictional dog.
