Still one of the best replay values ever
Played and beaten this game over 15 times, and I STILL can't get tired of it.

shareWow. Talk about blowing things out of proportion. The game was decent. The Resident Evil remake and Resident Evil 0 were better GC exclusives.
That is not dead which can eternal lie, and with strange aeons even death may die.
Actually, I'm waiting for those (and also Chronicles) to get released on PS3, and I sure will play them, too. Since I got RE4, and it piqued my interest in RE games, I then played RE2 and RE5 thoroughly, and am halfway trough Code Veronica, although it's a bit tiresome experience, I guess for me it's the weakest game of these.
RE4 brought me to the RE games, and although I won't go back to RE1 or RE3, because they are quite dated, I surely will get RE ORC and RE6.
So. Why do you think I'm blowing things out of proportion? The game does have the best replay value of all the (quite many already) games that I've played. So, I agree with the OP.
You just seem like a GC fanboy now telling me GC exclusives are the best.
I'll wait until I play those games and I'll come back to back up or (doubt it) change my opinion.
For now, RE4 rules, that's it, and I'm not sorry if you don't like it. You can have your own opinion, too. LOL
Well I was responding to the OP, I don't think this game has the best replay value at all. In fact I don't especially care for this game at all. It was way too long and just didn't have that appeal to me that the other games did. One playthrough was enough for me, I never really wanted to play the game a second time.
And no I'm not saying the GC exlusives are the best. RE4 was a GC exlusive along with the remake and Resident Evil 0. I just think the other games were better. The fact that RE4 was ported to PS2 and eventually to the Xbox 360 Marketplace and PSN is an after thought entirely. In fact I think that RE,RE2,RE3:Nemesis, Code: Veronica and the above mentioned titles are all much better than RE4 or RE5. In fact RE4 and 5 have completely destroyed any interest in me playing Operation Racoon City or RE6.
The series died when RE4 was made. It changed the game around too much. It would have been much better if RE4 was the start of a new video game franchise. They should never revamp a game series like that when the old style was still working. They proved with the remake there were ways to keep the old style while still offering new ways to amp up the gameplay.
That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.

I've replayed it countless times. I'll admit, that I don't stick with it as much as when I was first getitng used to it. I could play five or 6 hours of it a night, now, maybe one or two, but it's still fun, and my favorite of the series. I hardly ever play the other ones. Sad, because they're good, but they can't beat the gameplay of 4. Even 5 faltered a bit.
The weapons are impressive, and keeping all of them you buy is great. The merchant is a great addition as well.
My only gripe would be, if I'm selling bullets to the godd@mn merchant, why doesn't he sell them back when I need them?
I love to love my Lisa.
