Was the show ever real?

I've only been watching this show for about a year but I have watched pretty much every episode now, right up to the latest. At the beginning I thought it was hilarious because their conflicts were believable but now everything is geared towards another Kenny win and just seems contrived. Now it makes me think it was always fake which kinda takes away the humour for me. Is it real? Fake?

Remember the cum shot scene? Spenny's reaction was so spot on you knew it was natural so it hasn't always been fake. In another episode Kenny and Spenny are 69'd and the camera men say "you've gotta do something people aren't gonna watch you guys sit around" now if the show was scripted how do you explain that? I think the show is genuine but they may have the occassional skit that they throw in after filming so that the show remains interesting. Kenny wins all the time because he cheats simple as.

Fair enough, but I do think the later episodes are a bit weak, but I guess every series goes a bit stale after a while. And I think I'm one of the few people that would actually like to see Spenny win for once!

I agree this season has been a little below par with exception of basketball ep it's not been quite as clever

To put this argument to rest, people who say that this show is fake is dead wrong. Even Kenny and Spenny say that this show is real; I cannot remember which talk show they went on to say that. Why would Kenny and Spenny want to put on a competition show and have the show be fake? That wouldn't make since and if I were either Kenny or Spenny and if the show really was fake, I would have quit a long time ago because that would be so borning, even if I was making C$1,000,000.00 or more (or whatever Kenny and Spenny make per episode) per episode.

With that being said, I have watch every episode that has aired and will be watching until the show either gets cancelled or until Kenny and/or Spenny decide to quit the show and the show comes to a close.

That hasn't put the argument at rest at all! Of course they'd deny it, otherwise it would take away the whole mistique of the show and they'd lose viewers. I'm still skeptical. Look at The Jerry Springer Show, they claim that it's 100% real but the vast majority of the episodes are clearly contrived/fabricated.

Of course it's fake, it's a TV show.

What you have to take into account is that we see 22 minutes of days worth of footage. I'm sure that said footage is cut in a way to make it a better narrative and there are additional scenes added post competition.

So I guess you could say as far as 'real' and 'fake' goes; it lies somewhere inbetween.

It's completely real.
I have the Season 4 disk, & I watched the Bonus Features and Kenny says it's real & not scripted at all.

and if George Lucas said Star Wars was real, would you believe it...?

i'm just sayin', OF COURSE the STAR of the "documentary" would say it's real. that's part of his job. putting out that he said it's real as proof is the silliest proof of all.

having said that, i think a lot of this show is real...scripted, maybe, but organically so. my guess is that it's more controlled than fake, y'know? but whatever, i'm drunk, i don't know what the hell i'm talking about.

I think some of the competitions are real, and the guys improvise it from there for comic effect. I think that some are more scripted than others. Something like "who can bone most women", I think was completely plotted out from the beginning. Who can smoke the most pot, I think too. There were points where they, especially Spenny, seemed to play it pretty stereotypically pothead. Some of the simpler house-challenges, I could imagine being played as real, until a winner imerged from the improv. Like blindfolded, or staying awake.

I don't think that Spenny, as portrayed on the show, would tolerate a show where he was humiliated each week due to Kenny cheating. I am pretty certain that Kenny and Spenny, on the show, are characters, or at least exaggerated versions of themselves.

There is without a doubt plenty of pre-planned skits and shenanigans that are put into the show. Lots of stuff isn't genuine. 100% positive. The first episodes were better about being more authentic. Newer ones are just pathetic.

you guys are f'in morons if you think this show is 100% real, it's a TV show for god's sake. Some parts of the show are scripted to a degree for rating's sake.
