Reasons why this movie sucks

1.) It destroyed a lot of progress that had been made with the characters in the previous film, not the least of which was Elizabeth and Will's upcoming marriage. It ripped them apart for almost the entire film.

2.) It messed up Jack's character, like someone else on these boards said. Made him more of a clown with the same dumb luck as Goofy, where no matter how bad things got for him, he always somehow survived, despite all the odds against him (cue him running and screaming from the cannibals).

3.) The film was unnecessarily gross and graphic in a lot of areas, most notably on Davy Jone's pirate ship. It was actually far worse than the previous film in terms of gritty, gross stuff. The Cannibal Island and Jack's "toe" necklace was also disgusting.

4.) The only memorable part were the "bone cage" scenes, and even those were so contrived it was laughable that anyone would be sword-fighting while running on a rolling cage made of human bones. It seemed more like a circus act than a serious fighting scene. It's like they stole the idea from "Indiana Jones" and his rolling, giant, booby-trap ball.

5.) They made Elizabeth look like a traitor to everyone she knew and cared about, and her actions were not well-presented enough to reveal her motivations to the dumber parts of the audience, leading many to misinterpret her as an "adulterous slut" for kissing Jack in front of her boyfriend and then feeding him to the Krakken to save Will.

6.) Movie ended on a really shitty cliffhanger.
