I HATE this movie

...the ONLY Pixar film I've ever hated.

reply

Any reason in particular? It's not my favourite but it's a fantastic film the way Ty portray flavored and the twist villain, i thought it was fantastic.

reply

I didn't like it when I first saw it, but after a couple more viewings it is now one of my favorite films

reply

Most people put this close to the bottom of their list for pixar films. It's good, I enjoy it but can see why others don't.

Nothings worse than cars for me though. Tedious pixar movie

reply

The fact that you love Evanescence gives you zero credibility.

reply

And you spelled it wrong to boot.

reply

Ferran Adria's favorite movie ever.

reply

Me too. I've tried watching it several times and I lose interest pretty quickly. I don't understand the adoration for this film.

reply

Its definitely not my favourite. 1st - Rats. 2nd - Cooking. Neither are for children particularly. Oh and The ending is poor. I agree that Cars is up there in poor-ness too

reply

It's actually Pixar's most mature film to date, and probably its best.

reply

Even more mature than "Inside Out" and "Up"? You dope.

reply

With the exception of the first 10 minutes, Up is a rather generic buddy adventure comedy, with little depth. Honestly, if you ask someone if they have seen or like Up, they'll probably just mention how much they like those first 10 minutes. What about the rest of the film?

As for Inside Out, no *beep* idea why this got acclaim from both critics and audiences. It felt more like a TV movie than a feature film. Yes, the animation is great, but it doesn't offer much else. It makes it almost seem as if humans are giant robots whose feelings are controlled by tiny beings. This makes it difficult to feel anything for Riley, because technically it's Sadness' fault for her mini-depression.

Ratatouille, on the other hand, is smart and creative, has lots of depth, features themes handled and explored more maturely than in some PG-13 films nowadays, despite being only PG, has great characters and by the end you feel the story's complete.

reply

I agree with No-face.

Up is made of a brilliant short film (first 10 minutes) and a very average adventure animation, so overall it's not that great.

I did like Inside Out. I think it could help children who have problems externalising their emotions (I think some therapists are actually using the film characters to communicate better with children on the autism spectrum). The story and the overall film experience, however, is nowhere near those that make it to the top of my favorite (animated) film list.

Ratatouille, on the other hand, tells an absolutely lovely story in an excellently paced manner, while having a lot of character and unique identity. I think it's one of very few Disney/Pixar films that can actually compete with Studio Ghibli films in terms of overall experience and artistic quality.

I really don't understand how there are people who don't like this film AT ALL, not even a tiny bit. For me, it's one of the 10/10 films of Pixar, alongside Finding Nemo, The Incredibles and Toy Story 1 and 3. For me, this is a perfect film in every way, I love it, I rewatch it every year. It's witty, original, beautiful to look at, I love the characters, love the humor, it doesn't have those tone-changing flaws as in Up or Wall-E (which are amazing movies, 9/10, but for me are not perfect as the ones above because they don't have a consistent tone, in my opinion).

So when I see these kind of comments they give me faith in humanity because, honestly, I really can't understand how you can dislike this movie. It's one of the most wonderful movies I've seen in my life. I respect your opinion, but I just can't understand it.

reply

I don't think it's the worst, but I don't ever really rewatch it ever.
For me the order goes-
1. The Incredibles
2. Toy story
3. Monsters Inc
4. Toy story 2
5. Finding Nemo
6. Cars
7. Bugs life
8. Toy story 3
9. Up
10. Brave
11. WALL-E
12. Ratatouille
12. Cars 2
Those are the only ones I've seen. I think cars 2 was the worst because it was basically a cheap action movie cash-grab with no depth at all
