I don't think so, Cavill's a plank of wood. No charisma whatsoever. I'm very glad Craig landed it.

I remember watching Layer Cake and a friend suggested Craig could be a good Bond even back then but I was never convinced. Man of Steel is the only Cavill movie I've seen though and I hated that.
