what makes Kirsten Dunst so great?

I dont know what it is but i think kirsten dunst is great to see in movies. I just dont know what it is about her. Can you help me?

Her facial expressions are amazing.

I think it's her lovely smile and beautiful eyes that make her so attractive, although she is not the "standard" Hollywood beauty.
And from what I've seen of her, she's a very professional actress and very covincing in playing the character she is supposed to be.

What if this is as good as it gets?

reply

That and also I think it's her many little, sweet idiosyncrasies that make her so enjoyable to watch. She's simply genuine and happy which I understand some people may hate on just out of plain jealousy.

reply

While not spectacular she's certainly bangable and seems to have good energy.

You and a lot of other people, me included.....

Whether in Jumanji or Interview she looked cute, but it was her performance in Spiderman that got this old man grrrrring.

Her and Evan Rachel Wood I hate with a passion. Dunst has not matured as an actress nor do I find her particularly attractive. There never seems to be any nuancing, characterization, dynamic vocalization, or deep thought. When I watch stronger actresses, they drawn me in, I wonder what their character is internally thinking. With her, its all surface, a Johnny one-note.

Baffles the mind that she is deemed a leading lady, when more talented actresses, like Judy Greer, get second fiddle. I do like some movies she's been in: Interview with the Vampire, Jumanji, Mother Night, 15 & Pregnant, The Virgin Suicides. I like the movies, just not her.

You must not have seen her in the Cat's Meow, Melancholia or Fargo where critics have called her performance the best in TV all year. I actually think she's beginning to become a character actress—there's amazing amounts of nuance in her recent performances, even ones like Bachelorette

The only people whose opinions really matter are the directors who cast her in their movies and these are people who know what film acting is all about.

She brings life to her characters and is natural. The character was not that great but her performance made it work.. I'm sure she was disappointed as she was supposed to be Penny Lane in Almost Famous but instead got cast in this. I'd be sick...

She is exactly what the majority of American men look for in a woman. Blonde, beautiful smile, thin, has these 'come hither eyes' and good skin. And she's not drop, dead gorgeous, nor is she exactly girl next door. All this is coming from woman who is more or less ambivalent about her work, but the movies of hers I do watch, she always plays this unattainable 'Something About Mary' type and my only guess is because this is how casting directors view her and I guess there's some truth to that because all of you guys take notice. If I were her I wouldn't want to be typecast as the gorgeous waif all the time. It makes people think that she thinks she is, I know this because there are a lot of women who don't like her at all because they don't see anything besides these same dream girl roles. I don't think damaged dream girl roles like in Crazy/Beautiful or the Virgin Suicides really help either. Just my opinion.

Wildcattin'...Wildcattin'. Pow! I'm gonna go.

Well said.

She's not a great actress, but she's not a awful one either. She did amazingly well to drag out her career as a name actress as long as she did. She has good performances in her career, like Interview with A Vampire, Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind, The Virgin Suicides, Mona Lisa Smiles, Drop Dead Gorgeous and Melancholia. She was excellent in season 2 of Fargo for me. She was a decent Mary Jane in the Spiderman franchise. In recent years she's slipped from main actress to supporting actress which I think suits her a lot better imo.
