when people ask me what bands im into/like, and i tell them quite a few; of varied genres, they always freak when i say daft punk.
they say that theyre music is "dance crap", personally i hate almost every dance song i've ever heard, but daft punk are different.
does anybody else find this when your friends ask you similar questions?

Meh dance music Smance music. Electronic music is better :P Half of the electronic genre of music you'd have a hard time dancing too. Daft punk isn't one of them, really dancable, but in a different way. I love alot of forms of electronic music, like Trance (old skool trance, not this new watered down pape thats out and about now) Drum and bass (feel the omni trio) etc etc. Daft punk, well they're just simply funky, funky tunes everyone likes the funk ADMIT IT!
Oh and anyone who calls any form of electronic music "techno" deserves to die. Just on prinicple. Techno is only one genre of electronic music.

People usualy don't even know what daft punk is, so i just tell them im into house music. Then they dont know what house is, so I just say techno, even if techno and house are two different things, and then they think it's rap or something.
shareHonestly i love daft punk too bits and loved the movie but i wouldn't class them as dance cause their music is part funk part electro part house part chillout the whole discovery album was years in front of everyone else listen to high life then listen too kaskade both a house style song yet daft punk had it 6 years before it really became mainstream!!! but enough whinging i can't wait too see daft punk in december!!!
