What do you think are the top 5 most unrealistic things/storylines that happened throughout the series?
Personally, I think it has to be Dan getting out of jail after being in for only 4 or 5 years; I mean c'mon, the guy murdered someone, it made absolutely no sense for him to be "up for parole" 4 years into his term.
What do you think? What are some of the most unrealistic storylines in your view?
I'm just starting the series so I am going to tally this as I go.
Season 1
1) Whitey leaving Nathan and Lucas in the middle of nowhere after a game.
2) The auction where they have to kiss the person at the end of the night. How is this enforced?
2) High school kids hanging out at a bar. Brooke I can see getting away with this but Mouth looks 12.
3) Nathan getting his own apartment so quickly. Emancipation takes months and a lot of paperwork.
4) Nathan starting to work as soon as he sees a Hiring sign. Then Dan just happens to be at the mall?
5) Dan dragging Lucas out of the car accident. He could further damage Lucas in the process. You are supposed to wait for professional help.
6) Lucas is e-mailing Karen while she is away at her culinary school and the email address is karen'scafe@ you can't have an apostrophe in an e-mail address.
7) Deb just taking over Karen's cafe without any training or culinary experience.
8) Having a crib for Jenny just in the cafe's kitchen.
9) Keith getting a shop teacher position at a high school. Sure, he ran an auto mechanic shop but he has no teaching credentials.
19) Jake leaving with Jenny on a tug boat!! The most unrealistic thing about this is that he has one bag. For him and A BABY. This is *beep* impossible.
20) That women would find Dan Scott attractive with his shaggy, bad haircut and frumpy too-large suits. Not to mention his corny 80's face.
21) Haley and Nathan getting married in high school?
If you're going to tally every season , then I doubt you'll enjoy the show, you'll send to much time looking for things that are unrealistic then actually trying to enjoy it.
PS you're last 2 I dont find unrealistic, I actually find Dan very attractive and I have seen people get married in HS, not often but does happen.
Your comment annoys me. I have only watched the first season so these are fresh in my mind and easy for me to list. This thread is specific to talking about unrealistic storylines and I am answering. I don't need your advice on what I will or won't enjoy. I also did not say no one EVER gets married in high school. But it is unusual and the way they did it is absolutely unrealistic.
shareI wasn't trying to annoy you. Your right you're onnly on the 1st season and listed that amount of things you found. I was simplybing trying to give you advice on that if you harp or look for unrealistic things you will not enjoy the series are much. Trust me, there are tons more you will find. I meant nothing bad or was I trying to annoy you, I just want to make sure you not try and look for them and try to enjoy the show. Take my advice as you want, this is just one of my favorite shows, even with it being really unrealistic, I just wanted you to make sure you enjoyed it too.
shareYeah i was surprised dan got out so soon The nanny kidnapping was pretty crazy. The stalker is pretty outlandish but she had mental problems. Single white female thing going on there. Everyone has 8 doppelgangers around the world.
shareHow many psychopaths does this town have? Dan, the babysitter, the dead wife lookalike, the guy who killed the basketballer and then stalked Brooke? Am I leaving anyone out? For what seemed like such a peaceful place it was non stop drama, they even mention it once in the show.
Also Dan becoming a talk show host and Nathan being kidnapped by the Russian mob. Then Dan playing Rambo to get him out.
And Mouth getting any of the women he ended up with.
The first real psycho was Peyton’s stalker. So 5 at least.

In season 5 why does Haley have to work as a teacher when they live in such a huge house?
Why are they paying a nanny?
