Was Hitler really detached from reality at the end?

This is based on the memoirs of his secretary, so I assumed it to be fact-based. But his screaming delusional notions about reserve armies, that didn't exist, coming to the rescue made me wonder. The man depicted in this film is much more than stressed out. He's clearly deranged. I don't recall Speer's remembrance of Hitler's behavior during the final days in the bunker to be that extreme.

Hitler was an megalomaniac his ego could not take losing in any way, shape, or form. All this had been predicted by the American OSS, who did a psych eval on Hitler early in the war. They predicted Hitler would lash out to anyone around him when he realized the war was lost. They also correctly predicted he would commit suicide. Hitler wasn't crazy and yes, he seemed deranged he was just a complete socio/psychopath.

Yeah, they were predicting the same about trump -
It's all bullshit

At the end of the day, we'll never know.
Victors write the history -- so history is mostly made up.

He was certainly lucid enough to know that the end was coming quickly and he didn't want to end up like Mussolini.
