Jessica Biel

Saw this just the other night and the reall gripe I have with this film is Biel. She was bad. I mean really bad. She's trying to act all tough and stuff but I'm just not buying it. Her acting is atrocious. She's only famous for having a great butt in The Texas Chainsaw remake but that was it. Small wonder her career is dead in the water.

Not sure what you consider "dead in the water".

This was released in 2004, while she was still part of the 7th Heaven TV series. She has made about two dozen movies since, and has two more listed as pre-production for 2017.

Considering she had a child in October 2012, that might have also slowed things down for a while. But "dead in the water"? Not really.

reply

Oh yes it is. She's no longer A list material. Sure she still does films but none of them will be hits or remembered. Her career is dead.

reply

Makes me wonder what you consider "A list".

Since Blade:Trinity Jessica starred in about 20 movies (not counting the unreleased or in production titles) where she was within the first five names listed in almost all of these movies.

Were all of them successful? No. But that applies to a great many actors/actresses, including many "A list" stars.

Which will be remembered? Fondly or (?).

Most of them are not the type of movie I would otherwise watch, so I may not be the best judge of this.

The Illusionist was one I liked, and Jessica had a major role in that movie.

Jessica in I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry (2007), I have not seen this, and I am not sure how to classify her part. She goes from what looks like some kind of office worker to being in a kind of cat costume?

On the other hand, Accidental Love was a kind of stupid movie, only useful for those wanting to watch Jessica move.

I doubt that we have seen the last of Jessica.

Jessica? Is that you?

Get out of here..

She rocked in The Illusionist, a sadly overlooked and under appreciated fable, and in the Total Recall remake, which I expected to hate and wound up liking equally with the original. They sit right next to each other on one of my video library shelves.

reply

I loved The Illusionist.

Edward Norton, Rufus Sewell, Eddie Marsan (the best character actor/rhythm guitar thespian working today), Biel . . . ?! Wonderful cast! Wonderful fable (not fantasy) story. It’s not for everyone. “And then the man, and the tree, disappeared.” It is for people who are like Catbookss, and like I am.

reply

Yes, it was. Wonderful cast, wonderful story. I should watch it again soon. It's been a while.

reply

True but she is hot in this

reply

She's got a horrible attitude. Had a son but refused to name him 'Batmo'.

How could you be so selfish?!

reply

You made me laugh out loud 😊

reply

lmao

can't agree with the OP, she's the only reason I even like this movie.
